Applied to catalytic converter, still holds up after 22 months

Small leak in catalytic converter. Mechanics corrected in three months. I put a small piece of wire across the hole and applied this putty, making sure to let it dry and cure properly. After 22 months this product saved me from fixing my cat converter! Definitely recommend, prolongs the life of my exhaust system.

Works great so it's good Tools and equipment

Seems to be holding up so far. I broke the EGR pipe on my car and instead of changing it I tried to do this. I cleaned it with a wire wheel in a rotary tool and then used mechanical wire to mechanically tie the two pieces together. Then I spilled this stuff around. Compound and let it dry for 24 hours before starting the car. The consistency is like peanut butter, easy to shape. No leaks yet, driven about 100 km.

Better than JB Weld

Works well so far. Used 1 of 2 bags on that big hole on the muffler. Gloved fingers are used. The spatula will only laugh at you. Follow vehicle idling instructions within 10 minutes of application. He found/made some air holes, which is better than blowing it all out. It seems to be getting tough fast. If it were me, I'd let the machine idle longer to harden enough to avoid air pockets. I will apply the second pack in the future to fix this.

Works very well with collision repair kits

Had a seam on my resonator for my tundra. I gently brushed the area with a wire brush, being careful to remove loose scale and rust and making enough cuts in the surface to allow the putty to set. I applied it first with one of those bondo applicators and pressed the putty into the seam and then applied another coat to even out the difference in finish. After it sat for 10 minutes, I started the engine and let it run for 15 minutes. After all this I left the truck for 2 days before clearing the

The patches seem to be holding up well.

I used this to repair two about 1" square holes in the end of the muffler exhaust pipe. Since the putty has the consistency of toothpaste when first applied, I found it necessary to cover the holes with 1/4" wire mesh to provide a base for the putty. After applying, I ran the engine for about 5 minutes to warm up the muffler. Other reviewers warned that some of the putty could be squeezed out, which happened. After I reapplied the putty and attached the rest of the bag to the patched areas, Iโ€ฆ

Might work better with foil or something

I had a hole (well more like a notch) in my exhaust. I put a large amount of putty on it and you need to start the engine (not at high RPM) so the heat from the exhaust will cure the putty faster. The problem is that the putty "melts" first and just spits out of the hole instead of sealing. After heating, it hardens. I had to apply several coats after each was dry from the exhaust so the hole got smaller and smaller each time. I think this putty is best used when repairing the exhaust trim toโ€ฆ

Works perfectly! Use gloves

Used on my grandmother's Nissan Frontier to seal the edge of her muffler. I had never done this before so this was a first for me and I doubted it would work. I followed the instructions on the tube of putty, but I didn't have gloves, so I decided to apply it with my bare hands anyway. I smeared it nice and clean after cleaning the area with some sort of brake cleaner. Once applied, the putty was left overnight without even starting the car until the next morning. The putty did its job well and

The heat gun helps: Tools and equipment

I had rust causing a hole between the catalytic converter flange and the B-pipe flange (or any other post-cat pipe). SO I can't use film or tape. This stuff helped greatly reduce the noise, but when you apply it, it's like toothpaste. SO I cleaned the spot as best I could and carefully applied it with a plastic knife and gloves. Then I started the car and the pressure from the exhaust shot straight in. How do you plan to solidify this substance with heat when the heat source is also exerting aโ€ฆ
