For those who only use natural cleaning products at home, this collar smells of industrial cleaner. My cat has been wearing it for 2 weeks now and it still smells really strong. To be honest, I can't say whether the calming effect helps. He's still pissing in the sink. He also still seems uneasy around another cat that is slightly larger. I like the idea of this thing, but can't say I recommend it.

I have 3 neurotic cats, 1 hides all the time, 1 is just angry and 1 is afraid of his shadow. We originally got one just for the frightened cat but found it to be a much gentler home when they had all three. It sounds strange but I'm hesitant to go with the "purple" collars for fear they will leave a white coating but this one doesn't. The smell is pleasant enough and they fit well, accommodating from our 8 lb toddler to our 19 lb scared cat.
