Not impressed with radio and wireless fences

I have this smart door with this keypad so one of my cats can access the laundry room for HIS toilet and food to keep other cats away from her. Has worked well for 6 months. Then it died. I ordered a new one to replace the one that came with the door and it lasted about two weeks. The rubber seal didn't prevent water from entering the device and that was it. I'm ordering another one ONLY to have a spare so he doesn't have to stay locked in his room while he waits for the other one to arrive…

Zero Stars is the best in radio frequency and wireless fencing

Concept is great but delivery is wrong! 3 big dogs, about a year old with more than a dozen keys! The keys are fragile, large, bulky, the batteries are poorly screwed in when charging. No alternative source. Enter quality, it's quite a profitable system here! Now when I look I see a lot of bad reviews saying the same thing. Obviously the company isn't listening and has no plans to do anything about it. The whole point of getting this system was random and obviously cunning creatures finding…

Totally defective SmartKey, issues with collar attachment

UPDATED 11/29/2019 I thought the SmartKey came with a dead battery so I bought new batteries. However, the red light will flash to indicate a low battery. The old SmartKey works even though it is crumpled. After replacing the batteries, the old device will still work if the new one shows a too low battery level. This means that the new SmartKey itself is defective. and NO FREE REPLACEMENT. The shipping costs are roughly the same as the original key. The SmartKey is loose enough for any dog to…

I love the convenience

The convenience of a smart door with a smart key is great. We can now keep our animals inside or outside as needed, as opposed to previously having a non-locking dog door. Now no unwanted animals come to our home. The smart key works great and we had no problems with it. The reason I bought a second key was because it was hanging too low on her collar and she liked to chew on it. But now we have it higher, and since then there have been no more problems. The best thing about this dog door is…

Good Quality - Buy direct from PetSafe

No one did anything wrong here, but as PetSafe explained to me over the phone, the items that Revain sells are sometimes in stock for a VERY long time. In the case of batteries, this can be bad. I have purchased PetSafe replacement batteries from Revain several times (because buying things from Revain is 100 times easier than anywhere else). Unfortunately, the quality of these batteries was inconsistent. When I called PetSafe, not only did they offer me some batteries for free for my troubles…

The battery works by itself SmartKey

We have two dogs. We attach SmartKey to each puppy's collar (batteries are included). After wearing it for about an hour, I noticed that one of the pup's keys was missing a battery. We've been looking for a long time and haven't found it. We took the dogs inside to continue training them with the door. They only had to share the one remaining battery. I went to change the battery for another puppy collar. "Oh, MOLLY-BE-GOLLY-GOLLY!" It wasn't the best day for dogs. The battery in the other…

Just unlock and close. IT DOES NOT OPEN. Useless with multiple dogs

Everything is fine. They lock and unlock the door until the battery dies. they DO NOT REPEAT, DO NOT OPEN OR CLOSE THE DOOR AUTOMATICALLY. I should have read the description better, that's my fault. The locking and unlocking process also takes too long for impatient dogs and is annoyingly loud. Unlocking the door is so easy with the buttons on the door itself as my poor dumb dogs keep bumping into the damn thing before it unlocks or startle at the noise. On top of that, these things are so…

Better than alternatives

Those little "keys" are fine. You don't have much of a choice if you like the dog door, which we mostly do. We're trying to keep the cat at home, but somehow she got out the door twice. Both times he panicked in the backyard that he couldn't come back. So we're still optimizing. As for those "keys," the battery isn't removable (at least we weren't that lucky). So when the battery dies, you need to buy a spare key to screw the bottom with a new battery. So far the problem has been the loss of…
