🐕 PetSafe Happy Ride Dog Ramp Adaptor - Enhances Side Door Accessibility for Compatible PetSafe Ramps - Effortless Installation on Various Vehicles Review

This review is of my attempt to use this on a 2013 LR4. You can get different results. Had high hopes for this item but it doesn't work. There's no way to make it safe, so it swings back and forth a few inches, like a suspension bridge. Trying to lower it down a bit so it rests on the wheel well won't stabilize it, but will cause significant scratches on your car's paint as it rocks back and forth. My dog is already nervous with hip pain so he couldn't walk on this awesome swinging rope bridge.

This item is used with the PetSafe Solvit Deluxe Telescopic Ramp to stabilize the ramp using the car's side door frame as an attachment point. While not strictly necessary to use, as my dog proved to me climbing the ramp while I have the harness attached to it, it gives the ramp stability to stay in place and ensures that there are no accidents when the ramp slips off the seat and let your dog get in/out of the car on the ramp. When you get a ramp, you pay money to get a harness. It's worth it.

While the concept is good, the kit I received did not work with the ramp it was recommended for. The picture shows 2 adapters. There were 3 adapters in my kit and none fit on the ramp. One was too small and the other two were too big. My older dog can no longer jump in the back seat and will be too nervous in the back seat. There has to be a better option. I can't take her. I built a ramp to stabilize her so I can take her to the vet today. I may have to return the ramp and still not be able to

This adapter stabilizes my Solvit ramp when using the side door of my SUV. Since the side door does not open fully to properly stabilize the ramp, this adapter, when properly attached to the door, provides a safe surface for dogs to use the ramp. The part that hangs on the door is a rubber-coated metal part so it doesn't scratch the car's paintwork. I wanted to write a review because some people had trouble with the instructions or how it works. I had no trouble setting it up and once it's set to the right size you can just hold it for next time. My kit included three adapters for different Solvit products. Use this with my Solvit ramp which I also bought. At first it looks like you're about to break the piece of plastic attached to the edge of the metal ramp, but once you get the hang of it everything works great. However, only the left side is interested, where the door is.
