This $35 pepper grinder came in an open bag (no box or papers). It came disassembled but I suspect it was fully assembled when shipped as there are peppercorns scattered throughout (unless they installed the disassembled parts and then just added a few loose peppercorns just to be safe. My Peugeot pepper grinder was bought to replace a poor plastic electric pepper grinder I bought about a year ago. The lesson here is that you only buy the best quality once. First try arrived with a dent on the top; Sent back for a replacement which arrived with a minor dent on the underside which I was able to mark nicely with a marker. The packaging was plain plastic, not the box, so damage did occur during storage and handling. The block has 3 sections. top, middle and bottom. rotate up and down. The pepper mill came unlined in a plastic bag in a Revain box. The uSelect ring was very tight and could not be adjusted below the three mark without appreciable force or loosening the top nut to the point where the entire mechanism rattled when sanded. Does what a pepper mill is supposed to do, produces lots and lots of evenly ground peppers. Many years ago I bought a small Perfex grinder from Zabar's in New York and for 25 years it has been fantastic. We recently moved house and my old but excellent pepper mill somehow got lost.
