Question about my purchase

Will be used on Saturday so I can't say how good the knife edge is yet. My biggest disappointment at the moment is that they show a picture of knives in a wooden box. As you can see in my picture. No storage box. It's just a crappy box. For the money they charge I would expect better storage. Also, they look great and I think they will work great. The low score for the gift is because I would never give such an expensive gift to a random person. Especially if it only comes in one box.

EXCELLENT KNIFE AND MADE IN USA

Item arrived well packaged and reliable. The knife is nice and sharp. The geometry of the blade causes it to pull slightly to the right when clipping, but this should stop over time as I sharpen and sharpen the blade. It appears to be a more expensive knife so it's good value for money. Make sure you clean the blade after use as it seems to be easily prone to staining, which I really like but not everyone likes. The blade is strong and the ergonomics are pleasant. It's made in the USA, which is

Not what I was hoping for

I bought this knife to replace one I had on vacation for several years. This time I chose an American knife. , it's spicy but not as spicy as the one that was a few years old when I left it. I noticed the difference when I cut the tomato. There was noticeable drag on the blade, while the old knife cut through without resistance even after many years of use. I'll leave it and see if I can sharpen it up with a wet stone. If it doesn't work, I just give it to someone else and buy it from another…

Great quality knife at a great price

I spend a lot of time in the kitchen and recently purchased one of the Virginia Boys walnut cutting boards which has quickly become my favourite. I was so impressed with the quality and the company in general that I ordered their 8 inch kitchen knife. I was thinking of a new knife and needed something this size. Try it. I'm very impressed with how comfortable and balanced it is. The blade is of considerable weight and arrived well sharpened. Seems like it should cost twice as much and I would…

Fantastic knife. Excellent price.

This knife is amazing. It is beautifully finished and very well balanced and weighted. It looks and feels like a much more expensive product, but at a price where you actually want to use it as a kitchen knife and not as a conversation piece. That it's made in the USA is an added bonus. It's really cool that Virigina Boys Kitchen is selling such a quality tool made here (from German steel) at such a great price. Update in a few months: this knife is still great and has good edge retention. I…

Blade Heavy and unbalanced

I was looking for knives from USA as a gift. I'm a big fan of Wüsthofs (made in Germany) and was hoping they would be comparable. I have used Rada knives in the past and they are quite sharp but I didn't want a Rada as they are unbalanced and awkward to use. The blade quality on these Virginia Boys knives seems pretty solid and I'm sure they cut great (although I haven't used them). All three blades are so heavy that they were terribly uncomfortable to hold, like they were about to fall out of…

Fantastic knife priced at

Edit: 6 months later and this thing is still razor sharp. The sharpening angle and thickness seem to keep it sharp. I left a few drops of water on it which caused a little rust but it polished. Another train and another tank. Fantastic knife! Arrived sharp and the build quality is solid. Compared to the 8" Victorinox chef's knife (which always wins best knife), this is a much more comfortable knife to use. The blade is thicker, but its sharpening angle makes it easier to cut vegetables and…

Wanted to please but not

These knives are beautifully made and seem to have everything a good knife should have. They are made of carbon steel, so they must be hand washed and dried immediately. Do not worry. The large chef's knife is by far the best of the three, and it's a pretty good knife, but the other two are odd, to say the least. They seem sharp enough, but they work like very, very dull knives. As stated in some other reviews. After using them for a few months I have come to the conclusion that the blades are…
