⏰ Precision Clock Movement Mechanism: Long Shaft, High Torque with 5 Hand Pairs - 1.1 Inch/28mm Replacement Kit Review

This watch was purchased because of the long hands shown in the picture to the left. Instead of the hands mounting area being circular like the rest of the hands, this watch has a hexagonal shape that is finished with gold. Not suitable for round shaft. Failed to install manually on the shaft. Very disappointed.

I used one of these to replace a broken motor in a street clock with a ceramic dial. Fit well and I switched to a used one which the original engine didn't have. The only problem was that the original hands didn't match. It's okay, I picked a kit from the stack that came with this one. Great value for money too, 2 motors cost about the same as 1 motor from others.

I can usually figure everything out, but this one has me stumped. It's almost impossible to get your hands on the shaft without bending them. They must contain some kind of tool that will help them promote them. I thought I finally assembled everything correctly, but as soon as I put the watch in a vertical position, everything stopped working. On closer inspection, hands are no longer tied. Cute Mickey Mouse arranged.

The mechanism itself is good. I've used them on bourbon barrel lids and had to use a router to slide the movement back about 1/2, but it helps the clock hang better. My disappointment was with the hands. They are small, especially for a long shaft mechanism. We also had to use pliers on one of the sets to mount the minute hand. This is a good product for the price. Exactly as described and I love that it's quiet and the second hand runs smoothly. They certainly would have gotten more than 5 stars if they had included instructions and packaged the hands better. Now they just threw hands wrapped in thin plastic into a clockwork box with a metal hook. If they wrapped the clock hands in stiffer cardboard there would be fewer complaints about bent clock hands. Uff! I would go and see where else! not worth the trouble. I was looking for a quiet, high torque clock motor and chose this one because of the longer threaded shaft and wide range of hands! So frustrating! after delayed/delayed delivery. I restored a big, old, fancy wall clock! So I found these motors, I thought they were perfect.
