Shredded mess! in luggage racks

This is literally shredded MASS! I bought it so that we could all comfortably travel from the Outer Banks to Florida in one car. We were on the interstate for maybe 4-5 hours and heard a rumble. My husband and son got out of the car to find the trunk was torn and could not hold the luggage. We had to take everything in the car which was extremely inconvenient for 4 adults and 2 children in car seats! The return policy says 30 days but unfortunately I bought it and kept it in the box a few weeks

Pros
  • Quality construction
Cons
  • Almost everything is in order

Garbage with the logo

DON'T WORRY! Do yourself a favor and buy a solid rack like a Thule or Yakima, or an old-school Sears X-Cargo. it will not break for any apparent reason other than poor quality. WHAT GARBAGE. I replaced it with something similar from Walmart by Reese and it wasn't really that much better, although it didn't really fall apart (just leaked water). Luckily for both items, I anticipated that possibility and wrapped anything that wasn't waterproof in heavy plastic in the hold so I wasn't as upset as…

Do not buy this product

Unfortunately I cannot recommend this product. We drove from Florida to New Jersey. It was raining, not heavily, just normal rain. This product must be waterproof or waterproof. But neither one nor the other. The zipper felt good and is reinforced with Velcro. But it didn't matter. The material on the sides of the bag was torn in several places and water was seeping into the bag. Most of our things were soaked. The zipper didn't fail, the material that makes up the bag was torn. In my opinion…

Totally Unsatisfactory Cargo Container Shredded over 300 miles

I bought at the end of December for our long trip starting January 9th. I bought extra straps to make them more secure. When we uploaded it, it certainly didn't look as neat and smooth as the photo. There was an instant noise, and I had to keep shuffling and changing the position of the ties. After about 300 miles we stopped for the night and I shone my flashlight on the cargo depot. He had several pauses caused by the lashing of the wind. There was no way to pull it tight enough. Basically it…

Piece of junk on cargo shelves

Terrible product. We bought it for the trip we are on right now. We expertly installed Ford cross members. We packed it neatly and as a precaution wrapped each piece in a bin liner to prevent leakage in case it rains. The belts were terrible. The husband did not believe them and used industrial twists for reinforcement. Thank god it did because after 5 hours of flight the side ripped open completely and the plastic started peeling off like tiles on a space shuttle returning to earth. We checked

Do not recommend this product

This truck caused us a lot of trouble. While driving on the street, the zipper almost completely came undone. Luckily other drivers saw it and told us. We had to use a luggage lock to prevent the zipper from opening. After driving the first day, when we tried to remove the trunk from the roof, we found that it was full of holes. In the event of rain, the carrier would leak in many places. Also, we had to purchase additional ratchet straps to keep it secure. I cannot recommend this product. If…

Worked great for a land trip

We bought it a few years later for a trip from Pennsylvania to California and back. We used it on the roof of our car every time we drove. And in the rain on both trips, and in the snow one way - no problem. Nothing got wet inside. For us it was stuffed to the max with clothes, towels and other things - everything was dry. We only used the straps that came with it and they worked great. The only issue we had was not realizing that the zippers needed to be attached to each other. We took off…
