But very disappointed. The speed is not accurate and slow.

I owe a lot of Cateye and other brand bike computers. This is the first time I have needed a Planet Bike cycle computer. Bought based on the positive reviews here. But very disappointed. The speed is not accurate and updates slowly. It takes about two seconds to update the speed. The measured distance is also not accurate. Looks like he forgot to count the wheel revolutions. I wonder if mine is defective or not? I tried increasing the circumference of the wheel - it didn't help. Moving the…

Excellent computer for the money

I bought this Protege 8.0 by accident. We already have two Protege 9.0's and when I was looking to buy one for my new bike I thought it would be the 8.0. The only difference I see is that 9.0 can also show temperature. While the temperature reading can sometimes fluctuate a bit (+/- 4 or 5 degrees Fahrenheit) and the device is certainly affected by direct sunlight (like any temperature gauge), I still think it's a cool feature that's worth the extra cost. a few dollars. What I really like about

Very easy to reset the block, 2

Problems; 1. The device is very easy to reset, 2. the display is not very intuitive, most will reset to "0" instead of blank because it's easier to read. 3. The sensor should come with two levels of mounting for installation on mountain bike and road bike. I had to reduce the distance between the sensor and magnet by a factor of 3 before it started working, but I still don't know if the distance is correct. 4. No backlight, making the device unreadable in nightPro; 1. Great price. 2. Lots of…

The 4-line display is excellent; non-optimal button design

The main differentiator of this computer is a unique multi-line display. I like it when all the information I need is available at a glance and I don't have to fiddle with buttons while driving. The text seems large enough to be read at a glance. I haven't seen any other products with this design so I would definitely recommend a product for this function. The only design flaw on this product is that the function button (for resetting the trip meters or toggling the 4th line of the display…

Great bike computer

This is my second bike computer due to the failure of a Cateye predecessor. I love it. Very easy to use after installation. Read reviews before buying. The one to whom this device was torn off and hit a pothole either had a terrible hit or the device malfunctioned. Racers shouldn't have any problems. Mine is very difficult to take off when stationary, so I consider that a minor downside. Most ladies need a man to remove it for them, it takes a lot of effort. Someone also complained about the…

Outperforms more expensive computers

Planet Bike Protege 8.0 shows me everything I want to see on one screen, unlike almost every other bike computer on the market: Current speed Ride time Distance traveled Average speed Top speed The last two items appear on the bottom line of the display, which can also be configured to show total miles (odometer) or the time of day. I decided against buying the next model that can also display temperature as the previous computers I've tried weren't accurate thermometers. I put the computer on…

The only computer we're even considering

All simple speedometers do the same thing and with the same accuracy. Of the many we've tried, the PB Proteges are by far the easiest to use and have the handiest display. These are the only bike computers we ever buy. If someone gets a new bike, we immediately order another one. To be honest, since every member of our family has multiple bikes, the PB Protege series are the only speedometers we really remember using. With a simple one-click, you can conveniently select the display you want or…

Good but not perfect

I have used this on a pair of Bacchetta Giro (20 and A26) recumbents. The cables to the sensor are just sufficient for this. It can get a bit tight if you're tall and hold the handlebars up, but I got a few extra inches. I like it because I can see all the parameters I want to track on one screen: current speed, trip distance, average speed, trip time and top speed. I don't want displays that scroll or cycle through readings. I also prefer a wired system like this to avoid interference and…
