I chose this scanner because I wanted the highest quality scanned images. The box says the scanner supports 1600dpi, but the software downloaded from the website only works at 600dpi. When scanning, an error appeared that there was not enough memory to scan at a resolution of 600 dpi and errors may occur. I'm using it on a Surface Book 2 with 16GB storage and Windows 10. This is a beauty by any measure, but the fact that it didn't have the ability to scan slides and film was a deciding factor for me. I was offered to buy other hardware for this, but I just didn't have the space on my desktop, so I had to send the scanner back. Amazing resolution and color accuracy, superb image quality! The software is terrible. It took 4 hours to install and reinstall the awful software! It also crashes when its resolution exceeds 600 dpi. I have a brand new hp envy with 12gb and 8gb ram, intel 7, windows 10, it shouldn't be like that!
