A great tool to improve production!

Ideal for door hinges and pre-cut panels. 1 hammer blow on each corner and a chisel pointed slightly upwards and you get the perfect angle instead of multiple chisel blows!

Pros
  • Free for educational purposes
Cons
  • Hard to tell

Poor quality.: Hand and power tools

Poor cuts, shreds wood. The angle is not steep enough. The plate resting on the material leaves an indentation. I return, I ordered a corner chisel trend. I used one and it costs an additional $9.

Pros
  • Easy to read control panel
Cons
  • old

Excellent purchase. Best in Power Tools and Hand Tools

This is a handy product when you need to set square corners for mortise hinges after using a mortise router. Just place the chisel in the right place and tap the hammer once and the corner will square to accommodate the traditional square corner hinges. Excellent purchase.

Pros
  • An Absolute Legend
Cons
  • Concise Guide

Converting multiple door frames into square hinges is almost a pleasure.

Easy to use, requires care when aligning in the groove. One hit with a hammer and then poking out the cut material with a chisel and you've turned the notch for the radius hinge (or closer) into a square. Much quicker and more accurate than doing it to a bunch of door frames with a chisel.

Pros
  • Brings joy
Cons
  • The list will be long.

I think it's a dream compared to a chisel but it could be done a little better. That works fine. Spend more and you get a better tool, but for the price it works great. It's definitely worth the money. It does the job. I think older versions were built for heavier use but are great for that purpose. In some ways, the chisel works better, but it's pretty reliable. I'm kind of a perfectionist so I can clean it up with a chisel.

Pros
  • Excellent overall performance
Cons
  • Good but not great

Needs some tweaking to work as promised

It has an amazing feature and yes it's accurate but it's not out of the box. Some adjustment is required for normal operation. The spring is too strong so it hardly springs back. Just cut the spring a bit to reduce rebound and you're good to go. Sharp edge, it's not quite sharp I think because it's not properly sharpened. Sharpened from the outside in. Turns out it's not such an even cut that you have to grind with a chisel. We can solve the problem by resharpening it with diamond files. Just…

Angle chisel works great

After reading conflicting reviews about the angle chisel I ordered it anyway. I'm a decorating contractor and it seems like most of the door hardware I've used lately has square corners. The tool performs well when cutting and usually removes chips at the same time. Sometimes you just need to get the chips out of the corner after they've been cut. The only downside I found was that the striking face is rounded and can cause the hammer to slip off after the hit. But the corner is still chipped…
