I have tested this hub on iMac and MacBook Pro with hard drives attached. Drives keep dropping and then sometimes come back. Unreliable for backup. I had this problem on both iMac and MacBook Pro. In fact, I'm worried that the hub actually damaged the USB ports (or the motherboard) on both computers, since using a different hub now shows the same problem - instability when displaying disks - on both computers. This product is covered by the manufacturer's warranty.

Didn't work with iMac 2019. No power to devices when USB-C is plugged into computer (even with AC adapter connected), although blue and red LEDs are lit. MacOS did not report that the hub was connected. Plugging the USB-A into the computer powered the devices, but I wasn't sure if the power was coming from the adapter or my iMac. , I'm not the guy testing this product on how fast it actually transfers data. I have connected external hard drives to it and the data transfer speed is fine for me. I don't do anything intensive with these discs like video editing or anything else. Fast charge ports appear to do just that and charge my phone quickly, although I don't know how to test that either.
