Doesn't matter! - Starter and parts

This starter turns much faster than the old one! My 2000 F-350 starts now! I used to have to twist it a bit to get it working, but not anymore! Very satisfied!

Pros
  • test for a year
Cons
  • unreliable

quality control? - Starters and Alternators

Ordered these twice, first lasted less than a month and then stopped working without warning but at least my truck got home with it. The second one I got after returning the first one stopped again without warning after about 6 months of use and I was almost stranded 40 minutes from home; Fortunately, after several hammer blows, the truck caught fire. I would stay away from this starter if it wasn't the only one that could fit your car.

Pros
  • Price
Cons

Changed the starter 21 years ago.

So I finally changed what I think was the original starter in 2000 f250 7.3. I've owned the truck for 13 years and it always seemed slow to start. Apparently I've already changed the batteries in the truck, but still no change. Now in summer it starts slowly (like a 6 volt tractor). Turn this starter on and I can't believe how fast it starts! Even the old engine seems surprised! 🀣 will now glow. Couldn't be happier! It only took 3 days, I hope it will last a long time. I have a feeling it was…

Pros
  • Few competitors
Cons
  • So-so

My 2001 7.3L starts!

Ok, let's remember that we are dealing with 7.3 liter diesel engines. Tuff like a nail and millions of kilometers of engines. I installed this launcher in about 30 minutes. I have an elevator and that made it easy. Requires only two bolts and two nuts to remove hot wires. I also removed both positive leads from the batteries to keep sparks from getting underneath. It's only been up for two weeks and works perfectly. I will update this over the winter and time. So far everyone has given 5 stars.

Pros
  • Hands-free operation
Cons
  • Very expensive
