Poor quality control in many ways.

When I first opened the box, I saw that there were a few small pieces of black/grey plastic inside the filament. Not a very good start for white filament, but I decided to try some prints with it anyway. I immediately noticed regular under and over extrusions in the form of horizontal lines on the prints. I thought I had a clogged nozzle or a Z-axis problem, but I replaced the spool with another and the problem went away. I measured the diameter of the thread in several places, it varied…

Replacement spools print well

Edit: 19 Mar 18 - Priline contacted me via Revain and sent me two replacement PLA spools. Right after opening the vacuum bag, I put the filament in the desiccant box. I printed two dyno tests and a few other scenery elements. Prints come out fine at 215°C and a feed speed of 50mm/s (Monoprice Maker Select Plus, 50mm/s is a bit slow for this machine, but I'm still testing this filament). The prints compare well with the PLA+ that I use a lot. For landscaping and other situations where the…

Pros
  • Excellent construction
Cons
  • Crumpled packaging

Spend another $5 and get a decent thread

Trying not to be too harsh, but it's difficult. The print quality of this filament _may_ be "decent" _if_ all the stars match, your slicing is perfect, and you have a machine that costs thousands of dollars; otherwise stay away. Too many problems. 1) This filament "acts" like ABS, not PLA. It is very prone to shrinking, warping and peeling off an unheated print bed. Sometimes the first layer can warp so much that the hot end bounces off the print when it starts the second layer. I have three…
