Works but not like molded hardware

Received this because I installed a quarter turn latch on my bathroom door and needed a lock with a key. It installs without too much trouble, but you have to be careful when tightening the panels as the mold can scratch the door's wood or bleed the paint around the edges. The latch is spring activated so make sure you drill enough clearance for the plunger or you will get stuck and unable to pull it back when trying to use it. It feels flimsy compared to the molded plates and buttons that…

Exactly what I needed with a few tweaks.

Functional, not expensive, my wife likes the way it looks. it is not a heavy, safe unit. I recently bought a house with a vendor style basement. A very old door to the basement needed replacing and there have been several replacements in the house. although they were in one piece, they were also very old and the metal parts built into them were falling apart. This new product fits right in the place of the old one. My only complaint is that the screw holes don't quite line up with the old ones.

Low price, low quality.

Here you get what you pay for. It's cheap and you can tell. However, it works. The only problem I had was that it's difficult to find one of these locks that fits a specific size that you might want to replace, so I had to do some drilling and chiseling to get everything to fit the door properly. . From what has been said and done, it works decently enough. The only major problem I have is that the lock here is waiting for the door to open from the outside. The door to my bedroom opens from the

If you are ordering this then be aware.

When ordering, remember the old adage "measure twice, cut once”. Measure the size of your old mortise lock before purchasing. My house is from the 1920's with the original doors. The front door's internal mortise lock mechanism is much larger than the newer versions. However, this size is great for other mortise lock doors in my house. At the moment I have bought and installed 5 of these locks. There are some variations on the buttons, although I can't tell how many. Each package has a small…

Worked for several months. Hot Trash.

These items are expensive because they are cheaply made. They're easy enough to install if the latch faces the same direction as the latch you're replacing. This assumes that the same lock is being replaced and not a new construction or conversion. It's not very difficult to reverse the latch unless your cat grabs the spring. Everything works for me except for some reason the key doesn't work from outside the room. I don't use it anyway, it's not a problem for me. But it should work if you're…
