the internal plastic slider fails

this product was installed about 3 months ago. It just didn't work. The failure mode is that it is locked and cannot be opened. This is because the inner plastic slider weakens and bends, causing the whole mechanism to jam. This pusher must be metal for this mechanism to last more than a few hundred cycles. They threw it away and replaced it with an all-metal product.

Pros
  • the price is excellent
Cons
  • there are nuances

Broken - only lasted a few months

Fell apart in a few months. It was installed on a door that we use often. After just a few months, the button stuck and locked us in from the outside. Went through another door and was able to open it. This happened a few times over the next few months. Now it's completely broken after imprisoning us again. The metal inside is broken. We contact Revain for a 1 year manufacturer warranty.

Pros
  • Few competitors

  • Almost everything is fine

Quality product, quick and easy, thanks!

I purchased this item and it arrived in less than 24 hours. I'm not a jack of all trades and generally not very handy. I bought 2 of these to replace 2 old doorknobs. From the tools I only needed a screwdriver, drill, tape measure, pencil and sharp scissors. It took me about 20 minutes to figure everything out with installing the first one. It took me about 2 minutes to install the second one. I have to say the quality is much better than what they replaced and a great price. Thank you!

Good price: Latch

Bought a different make/model door handle about a year ago which broke. So I bought this as a replacement. It was an "add on" item from Revain so very affordable. In some ways it's better than the more expensive one, as it has a stronger "bar" part (the part that is one of the door frames). But the handle's internal latch looked a little less solid. I ended up making a "Frankenstein" out of both of them and now it snaps and snaps - if it lasts a year it's probably worth it. The other was…

EMPTOR ATTENTION (BEWARE BUYERS)

A FULL TEMPLATE MUST BE PROVIDED ON WEBSITE! There doesn't seem to be an industry standard for the location of handles on storm doors. THE DIMENSIONS SHOWN DO NOT INDICATE THE DISTANCE FROM THE CENTERLINE OF THE HOLE TO THE EDGE OF THE DOOR! If used as a replacement, you may need to drill new holes and plug open holes where the previous handle was. The snap trap may be of a different type, and the old doorknob is not as close to the edge of the door as the replacement handle. Having said that…

Pros
  • Great for outdoor activities

Broke in less than a month!

2. UPDATE: contacted company. Seems willing to help. I was told they would send a replacement under warranty. It was July 21, 2020. It is now September 1, 2020 and no replacement was delivered. Email sent to the original person and received no reply, also posted a new message on the company website. It is obvious that this company works with opaque methods and does not care about its customers. Better buy elsewhere! UPDATE: In less than a month, the latch broke completely. Doesn't work at all…

Pros
  • cool product
Cons
  • something different

This thing is made out of cheap metal and a plastic knob and stem. It probably won't hold up well. The screws are made of cheap metal, which when screwed in with a Phillips head destroys the Phillips head of the screws and can no longer be removed. I discovered this after installing the latch and then found that I had to adjust it a bit to get the door to close properly. I could not remove the screws with a Phillips screwdriver. Luckily you had the option of using a straight head to pull them…
