Enhance Security with Prime-Line K 5148 Door Strike Plates - Set of 3 Review

All big stores seemed to only have one size or style and unfortunately the previous owner of my house used hardware that seemed to only fit in a certain way with space/clearance for the storm door of that particular size - which ended in this set of (3) striking plates.

Replaces the broken model that came with the screen door. In a big store it would probably cost a dollar and a half, but they didn't have it. The smallest of the three supplied fitted perfectly and was exactly the same size. It comes with 3 strike plates of different heights. Money for less metal than there is in the neighborhood.

is fully satisfied with the functionality and durability of this product. However, I don't see much point in selling it in a pack of three and only giving screws for one. They are much bigger and stronger than the one I replaced which was plastic and broke. No way will this screen door open.

They were supposed to come with fasteners but didn't. There were only two screws in the package and there should have been six. It was a trip to the hardware store to get four more screws, waste of time and money. Not all attackers are the same. An attacker only advances half compared to the other two. It took more crafting to complete what should have taken 15 minutes.

Problem solved! During a severe cold snap last winter, the strike plate on my storm door broke in half and fell off the door frame. I was able to secure the door with Velcro but wanted to replace the strike plate. I live in a small town and neither of the two big stores nearby even stock them which was amazing. I picked up this 3 pack here at Revain and was able to fix the problem quickly. The strike plates are good, solidly built, heavy and I don't think they're going to break anytime soon!

This set of 3 latches with different heights is very practical and allows you to adapt to different locks and doors. Not all locks and door frames are created equal, some give very little play, some give very little. This set allows you to choose one that suits your situation and is well made. If I had them, installing a new screen door lock would be a lot easier. Also not so big that you don't end up with a big nugget of metal on the jam like you usually get with a spring-loaded grip option…

This is a set of three door closers (ie the latches are attached to the door frame where the storm door's spring latch hooks). These plates are sold by Prime-Line Products of Redlands, California (dotcom Prime-line-products) and are listed under model number K-5148. The plates are made in China and are made of die-cast zinc. They are brilliant silver in colour. The package contains two 3/4" screws and three counter plates that are 2 1/4" long and 7/16" wide. There are no pads in the package…
