They don't use much electricity

I have 2 igloos in my backyard for any neighborhood cats that might need a haven during a storm. They don't use much power and they don't get warm enough to warm your bones on a very cold winter night. It took them a while to get used to the needle, but now that they know they feel safe there, they doze off in it. I've had them for many years and no problems.

Worked great during Texas Snow Geddon

Worked great during Snowvid 21 or Texas Snow Geddon. My Rottweiler had to stay outside at 0°. Yes, he eats dog crates and cages to get out and drools on my floor whenever he sees my parrot or bunny. He has a kennel literally attached to my house, insulated and heated. He puts horse blankets on his down duvet, so don't hate me for leaving him outside. In fact, he was so warm in his coat and in his house that he slept with his head outside his house.

Take a look before you buy this product.

Worked great for a while. Now, 1 year later, it's junk. It was installed and used exactly as intended. It just can't handle the traffic of a 70-pound yellow lab. It still works but the shell has cracked around the perimeter. It wasn't chewed. It was in line with the pillow over the rug in the needle. It was in the store, not outside. Great idea, they never tested this product. It should be some kind of silicone coating, not hard plastic. wish you luck Good day.

Seems to be a good product at a reasonable price

Works as described. We have him in the igloo style cat shelter. When our resident cat realized he had to sit on it for a while to keep warm, he just kept using it. We often find it there in the morning when we wake up, suggesting he's probably using it during the coldest part of the night into the early hours. In winter, the temperature here regularly dips to teenagers (or below). Seems to be a good product at a reasonable price. Use it for the first season. He was there for several months…

I would not recommend this heating pad

I would not recommend this heating pad. I bought this for my 37 pound German Shorthaired Pointer about two years ago. I installed it in her dog igloo. As other reviewers have noted, it has since torn around the edges and center of the cushion, see photos. I expected it to last much longer. I asked the manufacturer to replace the gasket and they replied that the one year warranty had expired and the product was not defective. If they hadn't developed a seal in less than two years I would…

Very dissatisfied with product

I have ordered 3 of these for my igloo kennels. My dogs are large 95 lbs. mongrels. I tested the pads inside before putting them outside in the kennel. They warmed up, but not as much as I had hoped. Overlays are at home for 5 days. The dogs tore off the lid. The lid was only held by a few straps. The cover is very thin; I don't see it doing much. The cover is hard plastic. The instructions advise not covering the pad, except for the cover that came with the kit. Well, my dogs didn't want to…

The dog is happy and warm!

I put it in a kennel about 3 weeks ago when it was still half warm. I attached the pad (hard plastic, btw) to the bottom while screws and washers hold it in place. This eliminated slippage and, for the most part, the ability for dogs to move or remove the pad. I rerouted the string in the metal case along the back groove so the dog wouldn't play with it and drilled a hole in the side of the pot for the string to run through. model you need to drill to place the cable correctly. After the…

Great for older dogs. (Edited review - poor quality)

We bought two of these for our two labradors who sleep outside in their igloo kennels. They are aging and arthritic and uncomfortable indoors in cold weather. These pads seem to do a good job of keeping them warm in kennels. The description said the cases were sold separately but we had both in the kit which was a pleasant surprise. I hope they last all winter and many more. several months in use. As another reviewer reported, they look like they collapsed under the weight of the dogs. My…
