Nothing compares to freshly squeezed orange or grapefruit juice.

Machika manual citrus juicer is easy to use to prepare fresh citrus juice. Simply cut a citrus fruit in half along the equator and place a piece in your juicer, juice side down. Pull the handle down and the top of the juicer will squeeze out the juice. This juicer is very heavy so it doesn't move while juicing. This is effective because the strong upper arm and lower juicer press down on the fruit until it becomes flat. Nothing compares to fresh orange or grapefruit juice.

Difficult. Expensive. I still prefer electric rotation.

This is definitely a "heavy" citrus press. It weighs just over 15#. The interior of the press is made of stainless steel and is dishwasher safe. The rest is cast iron. When you need to squeeze a lot of oranges. . . then I prefer an electric rotary juicer. You can get it for half price (or less) for home use. Of course, the commercial options are higher. But if you like the manual process and don't have a lot of abs, then this one will work just fine. This press is made in China. There are…

Heavy Duty Juicer

I have used this to juice oranges, grapefruit and lemons and it has worked well. It took me less than five minutes to wash, cut and squeeze a large grapefruit from which I got a glass of sweet juice. I added a pinch of salt and half a spoonful of sugar to enhance the flavor. This machine sits perfectly on my countertop. Pros: Easy to wring and clean pure juicer with no additives. Sturdy and durable construction. Extracts the most juice: Professional quality. Cons: a bit heavy. It costs money…

Pros
  • Nice packaging
Cons
  • May cause injury

I have a few problems with this manual juicer. First, if you push a medium sized orange, it will tip over a bit and the whole block can escape you if you don't hold onto the back wall when you push. Secondly, the sieve cup does not remain in the holder. If you squeeze a medium to large orange when you pick it up again, everything sticks and you have to pull the strainer/cup out and put it back in the holder. Finally, a cup that can be dropped has to be fairly small, it's actually difficult to…

Wow, built like a tank!

It's definitely made to last. It's durable and heavy which means it stays in place when in use, which works great by the way. I didn't think about it before it arrived but if it was thin it would be very difficult to use and it's not thin. I've always wanted one of those big automatic juicers you see in restaurants, but they're way overpriced. On the other hand, the little spinners that you press on the fruit and it spins are good and better than nothing, but this thing is a citrus killer! If…

Well made, hard wearing

This type of juicer is the best you can use. I have had a Hamilton Beach juicer for many years which I love so much and wanted to add a second one for the time of year when we are inundated with citrus off our trees and need multiple juicers to work. While I think I still prefer my Hamilton Beach, it's still a well-made and quality product for the reasons I'll list. All components are metal, durable and working well. I preferred Hamilton Beach for the following reasons: It's higher, so I have a

It works, but it's not my first choice.

Very hard mode, but surprisingly not too hard. Overall robust construction. Parts in contact with fruit are completely disassembled for easy cleaning. These parts are thick enough steel that hasn't shown any rust in my use. There were a few burrs around the holes but nothing to hurt you, just enough to get caught on the threads of a kitchen rag or sponge. The juicer is great. Seems to get quite a bit of juice, leaving most of the pulp and seeds. The lever is so long that you have to stabilize…

Cons
  • Long wait

It is best to squeeze the juice out of the cup all at once.

Heavy, strong. Disadvantages are to be expected with this type of juicer. I found the juice to have more pulp than my other electric juicer which squeezes out most of the pulp. Disadvantages * Work with two hands. It is necessary to support the base with one hand while pushing the lever down to squeeze out the juice. * Limited height below to accommodate containers/cups for collecting juice. It's bad if you need to squeeze a large amount of juice for storage in the refrigerator. * It takes…

Cons

I think it can technically be used for squeezing cucumbers, but it's mostly for citrus. Yes, it will squeeze melons and some other fruits, it is made for breakfast, juices like OJ and grapefruit. It develops a strong borrowing effect to squeeze the juice from an orange or other fruit. Make sure half before use. It has a filter shield that catches all large seeds and most small ones. You have to be careful when singing with grapes, melons, apple slices and other things not normally used in this…
