Great for a 160 person presentation in combination with a Pyle 110 microphone amplifier

I had never used a microphone before and ordered it for an event I needed to host in a restaurant for 160 people. Considering the price, I doubted how well it would work, but I was blown away by how perfect it is. There was no hiss, buzz, etc. It just worked. I have used a Pyle PT-110 amp in combination with a very good home speaker that I have and felt there was enough power and everyone could hear me just fine. Mind you, 160 people is no joke and a good size. I just plugged it in, turned onโ€ฆ

Pyle makes positive changes

I swear you read these reviews because the two PDMIC58s I received were both wired correctly for balanced use - when I opened them the pins were already wired correctly . The 1/4" to XLR cables are also properly connected, which I checked with a multimeter. Also, a previous review said the cables smelled horribly. Mine are literally perfumed. A bit strange, but at least they try. Pyle, if you're still listening - the notch in the microphone body for mating with the larch of the XLR connectorโ€ฆ

Surprise! It's not an SM58

I bought this mic on purpose so my kids wouldn't ruin my SM58. For this purpose it works great. Sonically, they don't even come close compared to the SM58, and I'm not trying to be a snob. However, it works similarly and looks and feels very similar. However, it smells like factory or cheap cardboard. The first thing you notice about the sound is that the bass is very "booming" compared to the SM58. That's okay because you can balance it out. The mic still sounds fantastic for the price IMHO. I

The microphone is fantastic. The cable goes in the trash.

5 stars for the microphone, 0 for the cable. If they upgrade the included cable, even if they have to add it to the purchase price for Revain, OR remove the cable entirely and leave you to buy it separately and bang $2 or $3, I'd upgrade it to 5 stars. As the name suggests, the mic itself is well above its price point. But the cable that comes with it is terrible. It makes a lot of noise and does NOT get loud enough for real, proper use. I don't even keep it as a spare cable, it's that badโ€ฆ

Wow, VERY impressive

I bought this Pyle-Pro PDMIC58 to compare to another cheap mic, the Vayohee Wired Dynamic Mic, which is about $2.50 less. I need some mics for a candidate forum in the next few weeks and didn't want to break the bank so I tried these two to see which (for the price) would be better. I was SHOCKED at how good they are. The Pyle Pro's sound and build, not just compared to other plastic mics, but overall and for the price. For a mic under $20 ($15.57 at time of review), the Pyle Pro PDMIC58 isโ€ฆ
