Worth the money: Marker

This is a classic case of you get what you pay for. I first tried a compass-like plastic stroke from a big store, but I couldn't get it to stay at a fixed distance, so accuracy suffered. The reel on ball bearings is very convenient to use. It saved me both time and materials.

That works great! on Measuring & Layout Tools

. There are many ways to skin a cat and any decent contractor can do it without this device. After that has been said. This tool is worth every penny you pay for it. For the homeowner or DIY enthusiast, this is a must have. I absolutely 100% recommend this product.

Great Profiling Tool

This thing is great! Easy to use. - the bearing is great - the precision profiled tab works great - suitable for felt tip pens, pencils etc - light weight - you can flip the holder so it's pointing either side - you can use it to draw circles It's pretty intuitive but read the instructions that came with it. You might learn some things you wouldn't otherwise understand.

Smart Gadget Fits marking tools

I've tried several 'marking' solutions and haven't found the perfect one. Profiler+ comes close. The only complaint I have is that the design doesn't handle the pencil lead very well - you have to keep adjusting the pencil and it's not obvious when you're doing it right. Using a very thin rounder is the best option, but of course you have to make sure you're "on the spot" every time, as you won't get a second chance. Recommended article.

Looks expensive, but it was worth it in the end

It was necessary to trim the floor of the house to an uneven concrete base along the facade of the house. I've never done this before and there was a big gap in some places. This tool worked great - the scriber didn't have to be "perfect" for my case, but the roller worked great. I didn't have space to draw directly on my cutting boards, so I made a markup on paper and used it as a cutting guide for the boards. It looked patchy, but I'm happy with the result!

Not exactly what I thought

I'm a finishing carpenter. Sometimes I have to paint things to fit right on the walls/chimneys etc. So I figured I could mark the gaps in the 1 to 1/16 inch range. I could do it with that, but with great difficulty. I needed something I could just glue to the wall, find where the gap was the biggest, and draw a line to follow the outline of the wall to cut and match. With that I would have to slide it back about an inch and double check that everything is level and secured for my mark. I like…
