Outdated and overpriced, use 3M Adhesive Sealant 740 UV.

Pay attention to the date of manufacture, the expiry date is 12 months. As mentioned, the product arrived 3 months past the expiry date and did not cure properly. This is a simple silyl modified polymer, there are many better products out there. I ended up with 3M Adhesive Sealant 740 UV which was half the price and much better.

Pros
  • Good product for the price
Cons
  • Poor instructions

Next-gen technology, but more expensive

This stuff works surprisingly well. definitely next-gen technology. However, it is much more expensive than using plastic or tar paper and takes 24 hours to install before you can install the window, so you need an extra day. If you're doing a full two-step system again, you'll need two more days. Buy small shakers and wear gloves as they fly everywhere.

Pros
  • Great price
Cons
  • Not bad, but...

Great Stuff Previously good for building materials

Fairly easy to work with, even at low temperatures, initial tack is very good, resists sagging but self-levels a bit (I've probably used it where I it should have done ) ) In some cases I used seams with putty ) It's just fun to work with. If paper towels are readily available to keep the painting tool and any clothing items clean. I can't verify properties I can't test like breathability etc but it should be a lot better than off the shelf gasketing products in that regard.

Pros
  • Easy to use
Cons
  • Only available in black

Not fast for colder weather.

In the 1940's weather, I waited several hours to set it up. They tried sealing the room off with a heat gun and heater, but it didn't help. It couldn't be installed. Finally I gave in and installed the door raw. It's dirty. Cleaning the gun afterwards is annoying. You need acetone. It helps. Expensive. I only did the bottom part of the door, and it took about a roll and a half. I don't know, maybe I'm used to a lot. Why hasn't it dried? I would recommend if the weather is warm and you could fit

Pros
  • Absolutely amazing!
Cons
  • Useless features

You will learn to love this product

At first you will hate this product. It will look messy and you will use too much thinking it is too expensive. After a few windows you will become much cleaner. The best thing for me is how it seals the air. After installing the windows, the draft is not felt at all, and this before the window is foamed. Not to mention knowing my windows will never leak. It's expensive, yes, but flashing tapes aren't cheap either, they're a nuisance, and they're far from perfect, especially if your holesโ€ฆ
