Description of πŸ”₯ High Temperature Carbon Fiber Spool: Proto-pasta HTP21705-CF PLA 1.75 mm, 500g, Black

Includes the benefits of carbon fiber with substantially increased temperature resistance when annealed. Comes on fully corrugated recyclable spool with standard dimension. Matte Black finish on prints that hides layer lines for more attractive Printed parts. Processing is comparable to standard PLA. No heated bed required. Process may be less consistent on smaller nozzles (&let; . 4mm) and/or Bowden Type machines. We recommend printing this material at 190c-230c using a 4 mm or larger nozzle. Please Note that this filament is more brittle than normal PLA and requires more careful handling to prevent breaking. Designed and manufactured in the USA with quality and customer service as a top priorities. Usa sourced packaging and labor.

Great alternative to heat!

I was looking for an alternative filament for my 3D printer that could handle the south Florida heat in my car without warping and I didn't want to invest in upgrading my printer to ABS . It worked great, the phone holder I printed holds up well and doesn't warp or lose rigidity when heated like regular PLA. I would describe it like this: - Good quality prints, very hard/rigid and light weight, I wouldn't say stronger than regular PLA but seems solid. Black has a nice dry carbon look. While it…

Pros
  • Designed and made in the USA where quality and customer service are our top priorities. US Packaging and Labor
Cons
  • Requires socket

Wonder. suitable for 3D printing consumables

My search for a yarn that offered strength, heat resistance and a beautiful finish led me to this yarn and I was not disappointed. While I'm not ready to test just how far its heat resistance can extend over different periods of time, I've already been pleased and even impressed with this product. Heat resistance: when I heat treated it in the oven. , it seemed to hold its shape until I preheated the oven to 200+F, which is very impressive. It's worth noting that the recommended temperature to…

Pros
  • Incorporates the benefits of carbon fiber with greatly improved glow heat resistance. Supplied on a standard size, fully crimped, recyclable spool
Cons
  • Only available in black

Definitely requires a lot of fine tuning.

Where to start? What about the packaging: Having a plastic bag was nice, having this non-vacuum sealed bag wasn't, especially when the silica gel bag is half the size of what comes with the other filaments I buy. While the cardboard spool is technically much more recyclable than the regular plastic spool, it feels like something that was made for an elementary school art project and would be a hassle to repurpose for another use (I have the old plastic spools for storage for the parts and…

Pros
  • We recommend printing this material at 190-230Β°C with a 4mm or larger nozzle. Note that this filament is more brittle than regular PLA and needs to be handled more carefully to avoid breaking.
Cons
  • Big and bulky
