Description of 🌈 Proto Pasta Translucent Iridescent HTP21705 ICE Filament 1.75mm

Prints like standard PLA but with better than petals temperature resistance after annealing. Comes on fully corrugated recyclable spool with standard dimension. Iridescent ice is Clear in color with very little Yellow, slight iridescence in direct Sunlight. We recommend printing this material at 190c-230c. No heated bed is required but may improve printing some geometry. Temperature resistance of up to 140C is achieved by annealing after printing in an oven at 60c-110c. Designed and manufactured in the USA with quality and customer service as a top priorities. USA sourced packaging and labor.

seems great. - 3D Printing Consumables

The first part of the roll worked perfectly. But as I got deeper into the roll, the thread wound up badly and snagged, spoiling the work. I have to rewind the product to use the last quarter of the roll. I contacted the manufacturer and they apparently snapped as they exchanged emails once and never heard back. Your carbon fiber thread, on the other hand, seems excellent.

Product appears to be mislabeled

I ordered this and they sent me a roll of 2.85mm thick PLA steel. The plastic packaging was marked with iridescent ice, but the coil inside was clearly marked with steel, and it was pretty obvious that it wasn't even the right diameter. So I sent it back. Then I got another coil, this time 1.75mm HT PLA but matte fiber. Again, the packaging said Ice, but the roll inside didn't. I'll be returning this one too because it's too expensive to keep this thread I probably won't be using. However, I am

Heat treatment doesn't work on small parts

I'm so disappointed with the proto-pasta HTPLA filament. Forget it's more than triple the price of standard PLA. Apparently heat treating just doesn't work on small parts. The parts I printed were to extremely tight tolerances on size and ability to withstand the summer heat/sun. Any attempt at heat treatment, even at the lowest times and temperatures recommended by the manufacturer, resulted in warping before the part had even reached the opaque state. Tech support suggested that I print…
