Not bad for the money

But not great. The rubber grip is too stiff and slippery and won't grip the body of the gun connector unless you squeeze really hard. I mean very hard. And sometimes you don't have the strength to do it. A slightly softer cheek pad holds better and makes turning the gun connector easier.

Pros
  • Best in its niche
Cons
  • Minor issues

Does what I need - vise and fastening pliers

I bought these to tighten the end caps on the jigs we build without damaging the finish but tightening just enough so tampering fingers won't tighten them to be able to solve . They grip enough on a smooth surface to get the job done. I cannot comment on the intended use of plumbing fixtures as I do not use them in that capacity.

Pros
  • Great price
Cons
  • I won't tell

Cheap, almost impossible to use

I spent a year as a contractor installing aircraft electronics and these pliers were probably the only tool in my drawer that I hated. I wanted to save some money but as an old friend said "there's nothing more expensive than a cheap tool" because it just didn't work. The jaws are not rubber, but hard plastic that has no real gripping power. The locks slide almost freely, making it unbearable and annoying in tight spaces. I highly recommend spending the extra money on tools that work. When it…

Pros
  • Absolutely amazing!
Cons
  • Safety

Does not correspond to the usual proto quality

Bought to work with my sprinkler system. I was hoping the soft jaws would allow me to twist the spray head rods, but the rubber isn't grippy enough to bite the plastic rod. Substitute. Some of the heads wanted to turn, and I felt more confident gripping the plastic body with something soft while unscrewing the cap. Overall the quality is not very high, the fit and finish is average. I have purchased many proto tools over the years and I can say that the hand tool line is hit or miss. Usually…

Pros
  • Everything is fine!
Cons
  • Concise Manual

Useful when you need non-scratch pliers

These pliers are designed to work with Cannon connectors when you cannot turn the ring by hand. Like the other reviewer, we got these tongs to twist plastic risers in a lawn watering system. Pliers work well when the pipe is dry, but pliers slip when the pipe is wet. It was enough for us, but if the whistle was wet you could use it with a rubber grip foil. Strongly curved handles feel different than straight handles, but you can get used to it. These pliers are a good tool to have on hand. They

Pros
  • Easy to use

  • Durable
