Good oil pressure on my 15 year old 4WD Ranger. I liked their air filters so I started using their oil filters. I used to use the version with the bar at the top. It's a more affordable alternative to a great product. The paw was a bit superfluous. I have free access to the oil filter.

I have never used a K&N filter but as it was reasonably priced I decided to give it a try. It looks like a quality filter, and the fact that the screw at the end is covered in plastic (to keep dirt out before installation I suppose) shows the company goes the extra mile, which few seem to do these days. Purchased as an external filter for the Harley Davidson External Oil Filter to replace the K&N WHITE Bottom Nut Filter. My chopper is black and the white filter sticks out like a sore thumb. Spring. The white filter costs extra dollars. The black filter housing is MUCH thinner. In such a vulnerable position, function is KING over form! You get what you pay for.

This filter fits the 2004 Jeep Liberty 3.7L engine. It barely fits and puffs when everything is cold. When the engine is warm, a steady, copious drop of oil will flow out of the engine at idle, even if the filter is overtightened. It looks like the diameter of the filter and o-ring are too small to make enough contact to hold pressure with the engine running. And it's typical: most mechanics say you can go 6-10,000 miles on this quality oil because it has less thermal breakdown. Some people and tests show that even 12k is safe (as long as the time is less than a year).
