Poor quality good for hardware

As previously mentioned, the threaded hole containing the hex head screw attaching the D-handle to the twist grip shaft was not fully rotated. I had to tap it myself with a 1/4-20 thread. I would return the set but I needed it. Buy it from another seller.

  • Absolutely amazing!

Barn pen not recommended

When I first opened the packaging I thought it looked like a quality product. I did the install and started tightening the set screw that holds the inside handle and it broke after I turned it. Not the best argument for protecting a barn door.

Pros
  • Absolute legend
Cons
  • Almost everything is fine

The set screw was swapped when received

This should be easy to install, especially as a replacement, but I found the set screw that holds the D-handle to the square shank doesn't go down enough through to keep the grip on the shaft. I recut the hole to 1/4-20 and used a small 1/4-20 screw. After that it seems to work fine.

Pros
  • Stylish and modern design
Cons
  • Communication with seller

PERFECT! in accessories

Not knowing what size to buy, this purchase was a success. I needed to replace a handle on a tool shed that is 15 years old and never had a lock. My uncle suggested I buy a new handle with a lock and he will install it. Of course it turned out great! You get 3 keys for each lock. Insert key and turn, turn knob and OPEN. Good choice!

Pros
  • handy thing
Cons
  • crumpled

Poor quality control, handle D was not used.

Seemed like a 5 minute job but found the set screw was not fully screwed into the threaded area. The threaded nut was installed incorrectly and there appeared to be excess metal in the machined channel preventing it from moving any further. The only option was to mount the old D-grip onto the shaft of the new grip. Do not buy.

Pros
  • Delivery was very quick
Cons
  • Questionable purchase for the elderly

Sturdy Easy to install

We are buying an Amish-built chicken coop. That latch was there. It broke this winter, through my own fault, when attempting to spin when ice formed on the threshold, which I didn't notice. Since it was cast iron, it was destroyed. I ordered this exact bar and had to send it back because the shaft didn't open for a long time. The current one here is great, but the shaft isn't long yet (so sawed out a piece of the barn door to adjust it). I would buy again if needed!

Pros
  • Great for a small home
Cons
  • Frequency

Good value for money but requires a little work before installation.

Good: easy installation, easy to adjust to the width of my door, included Allen key to install inner D handle, included 4 keys, black trim suits my door better than that existing chrome. I recommend making a small notch on the spindle right where the hex nut will make contact with the spindle.

Pros
  • nice item
Cons
  • don't remember but there was something

Installation failed. Bad quality control.

I ordered this barn door handle to replace an old closet door handle that I lost the keys to. After installing the new locking grip, I attempted to add an adjustable D-grip to the stem, but found that the locking screw would not go all the way down to grip the handlebars, no matter how hard I adjusted the allen wrench. My inspection showed that the nut was not seated properly on the D-handle and the misalignment did not allow the bolt to turn all the way down as needed. Luckily I was able to…

Pros
  • Durable finish
Cons
  • Damaged
