Spare parts hit hard

These things put a lot of pressure. Make sure you have a good pair of gloves to hold them in place so you can push the plunger back in to insert. Sturdy and high quality part, I am very happy with it

Exactly what Bimmer needs.

Good price, good quality. Installs in less than 1 minute to replace old worn bonnet stays. The hood now properly stands up on its own. Well done, will buy from this seller again.

Pros
  • Excellent overall performance
Cons
  • Some bugs

Looks cheap but works.

It works and the installation was easy and quick. I have a little doubt about the durability of this item as firstly it is made in China and secondly when I received the item it looked very cheap compared to my old ones. But fingers crossed and hope it lasts!

Easy installation is best in lift legs

I bought my car used and the front hood has never been left open on its own. After a few years I decided to fix it, so I bought them. All I needed was a flat head screwdriver to replace the old ones and it only took 5 minutes to install. The struts are already prelubricated in the swivel joints.

Problem solved! for spare parts

Great! This is perfect for my 2006 BMW 325i. No more guillotine hood lol. It's also pretty easy to put on. Simply pull the clips at the joints slightly (with a very small screwdriver) to remove the old ones and install the new ones in the same way. I'm not an auto repair woman so anyone can install them.

Pros
  • Comfortable to use
Cons
  • No instructions

2009 Bmw M3 Convertible E93 Hood Bumpers

Just installed them on my 2009 Bmw M3 Convertible E93. The front hood shock absorbers had just failed so I bought them. I just read online that they are wrong but they work great. Hood that one will be enough.

Pros
  • This is awesome
Cons
  • Crumpled

It seems normal but there are problems

They seem very strong. It's actually quite difficult to lower the hood. Giving 4 stars because they make an odd noise and feel rough for the last few inches or so before the hood is fully open. Another issue is that the connection points are larger so they rub against the passenger side wiring harness on a 2008 BMW 328i. Excessive opening of the top can wear out the seat belts and cause short circuits. The original frame has more ground clearance. You may need a small piece of styrofoam or…

Worked perfectly for me.

The hood fell on my head 3 times and ruined it. I started using 2x4s but sometimes they get in the way of my work so I decided to try them. Installation was very easy and once on they held the hood very well, even a smack was enough to hold the hood. The only problem I had unrelated to this product was removing the old ones. I poked around at the little spring clips for about 20 minutes before I could get all 4 to lift up and pop out. Good price and worth not having to deal with a crappy bonnet

Pros
  • Great for me
Cons
  • Quality

Cheap Struts, Cheap Performance

The Bad: There is no dampening mechanism on the struts when the hood is opened so it pushes up, stops and slams hard several times before lowering. "Gently" push out the last few inches. With those heavy bonnet flaps multiple times. God, it's horrible to look like a cheap car. It feels like I put the native rack back. For me this is not a very good buy. Unless your racks are completely broken, I don't recommend them. I didn't see any lube on the round hinges so I added some lube. Installation…
