Impression: Accessories for cutlery and knives

Good knife, sharp and stays sharp. Have been using Rada knives for years and this knife is the reason. Still has excellent workmanship, easy to clean. Recommend

RADA = Excellence in Cutlery! My favorite to date!

Chef's knife slices through the toughest raw sweet potatoes with ease! I also highly recommend their knife set, which includes a peeler; Steam knife and tomato knife! I also VERY much prefer their stainless steel handles over black handles. Much better grip and appears to be better finished.

Pros
  • Decent performance
Cons
  • Available in white only

To all the chefs who are knife snobs.

Firstly I don't like the dull hue on the handle but over time it wears away the fur. This knife can work, it can handle the abuse of a commercial kitchen. Blade retention can be easily maintained with a RADA sharpener which will keep this knife sharp at all times. After sharpening, just put steel on top and you're ready for another week or more of volume prep. I like a flexible blade for all tasks. I've used this for salmon fillets, halibut, chicken, cut sides and fillets. The design beats all…

Made in the USA and GREAT!

We bought several Rada knives at a large farmer's market because they were highly recommended by a customer and they were very affordable. We've been using them for about six months and are hooked now. They're sharp to begin with, and we haven't had to sharpen any of them yet. We recently bought two of the 7 sets of knives as gifts and a few extra knives for ourselves. A French chef's knife and a larger santuko, as well as a rada sharpener. They are all sold here at Revain. Everything was…

Great chef's knife at a great price!

Even though I have much more expensive chef's knives (Wusthof, Japanese Gyuto boutique), I often reach for Rada because it feels really balanced in my hands and holds a much better sharpness than others. I like the thin blade as it gives much better control over thicker blades like the Wusthof. I certainly won't get rid of my Wusthof or Gyuto as they serve their purpose, but I'm drawn to Rada first for most tasks. Although it cuts much better than others, like any other blade it needs blade…

Great price but not a great knife

I own almost all Rada knives, in addition to a few "expensive" knives. While Rada knives definitely offer a great price, they cannot be compared to high quality forged knives. The main problem is the thickness of the blade. Even when sharp, they are too flexible for many uses. While a flexible boning/filleting knife is good, a chef's knife or other utility/slicing/slicing knife must be rigid for functionality and safety. Try cracking zucchini with Rada's heaviest knives and you'll see what a…
