Driving behavior significantly improved.

According to manufacturer Charles, the RS999044 is the correct damper for a 2014 Ram Heavy Duty rear wheel drive without air spring. I installed the 2 rear shock absorbers in just under 2 hours knowing I was working on a concrete surface with driving ramps to raise the car. I would recommend including the torque value for tightening the nuts and instructions for working with a 9 point adjustable tuning knob.

Pros
  • Stable test results
Cons
  • Can't remember

Please take 5100s. don't end up like me

I bought these after reading all the negative reviews. 2011 Aries 2500 5.7. I mainly drive on the Autobahn, although I do drive through the woods and use the truck as intended. The shock absorbers aren't stiff enough for a truck so they need to be kept at 9 to drive safely on the Autobahn. This is with a petrol engine, I can't imagine how bad they would be with a heavier diesel. - In just 6 months they are completely shot. I can push the bumper up and down and the whole truck bounces up and…

Don't waste your money on the Bilstein 5100s

Don't waste your money on Bilstein 5100s. Adjustable is the only way if you're towing, so I recommend them. In soft mode, the car drives smoothly without a load. Hard settings eliminate almost all jumps due to the heavy weight of the rear pin.

Pros
  • NINE LEVELS OF PERFORMANCE -- Easily adjustable in nine positions, the handlebars allow you to adjust damping and stiffness for flexibility on and off-road.
Cons
  • There are more interesting options.

Virtually useless

I bought all four shock absorbers to replace the stock shock absorbers on my 2500 diesel engine. I've bought a 5000 series in the past and settled on this one 9000 series. At low speed they're fine, but once you get over 40mph they're almost useless for control. As others have said, I had to crank them to the hardest setting to get my truck to handle properly on the freeway, but then the low speed was a bit of a ride. And when I finally got a tractor from them, that was the nail in the coffin…

Doesn't matter! The best in shocks, struts and suspension

This is a really great product. Installed the front first. I was very impressed with the ride quality they gave me on my 2006 Ram 2500 Diesel 4x4. Then, as I was towing our toy tractor, I noticed that the front end bounced more than it did with the sticks. Twisted it 2 clicks stiffer and the front was as smooth as silk. I couldn't believe the difference! Much better than stock. I liked them so much that I ordered two more for the back. So why not 5 stars? Well I have a complaint. Adjusters can…

Pros
  • DURABLE – Self-lubricating, low-friction seal keeps gas and oil out for faster rebound and more consistent compression, while the durable premium liquid metal finish and polyvinyl skid plate ensure long life
Cons
  • I vaguely remember
