Inexpensive Master Cylinder

I have a 2003 Mercury Sable with over 100,000 miles on it. I want it to work without paying a fortune. When the master cylinder failed I looked up Revain and found a few options. The price of the Raybestos MC was very reasonable so I decided to give it a try. The replacement part was not long in coming. You sent the correct part. In general, the impressions are positive.

Works as intended

Pro, great price for a new master cylinder. It fits snugly in the 2003 Mercury SableCon. As mentioned, the pump kit is junk. Both bleed plugs are the same size, but the holes on the master cylinder are different sizes. The pitch is metric and I had to use a metric pitch kit. As others have said, the low fluid level sensor does not snap to the connector on the vehicle. The connector works fine, but the plastic isn't quite right. It seems like it's too long and the latch doesn't click. I removed…

2004 Ford Taurus fits Master Cylinder and Parts

UPDATE: 4 months later, no problems, no leaks, no soft pedals. So far, so good. Installed this on a 2004 Ford Taurus a week ago. PROS: - perfect fit, easy assembly - after bleeding the ABS module and the wheels, the pedal is stiff and the brakes are effective. (To bleed the ABS module, drive on grass or gravel and apply the brake to activate the ABS. This will force the air trapped in the module to the wheels. Do this a few times and then bleed the Wheels. It should be perfect afterwards)…

Part Direct Fit

Excellent replacement part. Removed the old one and installed the new one in less than an hour. The bank was pumped by hand, the plugs to pump the bank didn't fit, but that's not a problem.

Pros
  • Fit: Universal
Cons
  • Doubtful
