    Good high spin performance

They are noticeably louder than my old 4TB Reds but they seem to perform slightly better. My NAS used to fit easily in my media cabinet, but now it's so noisy I have to move it somewhere else. Mostly vibration and search sounds. I think it's a compromise to keep a 4-bay NAS, but it requires more space. If I started from scratch, I would end up with more bays and smaller, quieter drives.

Noisy but I like the power and power.

I installed two drives in a 2-bay NAS and the performance of Raid 1 is fantastic. I just wish they were a little quieter. Would have given 5 stars if it wasn't for the noise.

Revain sent the wrong model twice!

I love WD drives, including the Red Pro series. On the last order, Revain sent the wrong model and then sent the wrong model to replace the mistake. This was done with Revain's shipping and sale confirmation. The only option for the second return was a refund. Incredibly disappointed with this order from Revain.

    10 TB is enough space!

This disc is versatile for just about anything you like! I enjoyed the fact that I was no longer afraid of running out of hard drive capacity. If you need space this is a great drive and at 7200rpm it gets the job done fast!

Have you used these WD Red Pros about 26 times before your Synology NAS didn't have any failures and the subwoofers are several years old, 5+?

    Good NAS upgrade

I bought two of these to replace 5TB drives in a NAS unit. Installation was easy as you first install a drive and wait for it to join the RAID scheme. Once it's fully integrated, install the second one and wait for it to integrate into the RAID as well. Both drives are integrated as expected and have been running 24/7 ever since. I have had good experiences with the WD Pro Red series for NAS devices. Not a single failure in the last ten years. Only one drive out of several had a few reallocated

I bought a WD Red Pro hard drive at full price over $300 and thought I would get a 5 year warranty as per the product description but I got an old product that may be new was packaged as the label says date of manufacture is April 2019, however according to Western Digital it is counterfeit and not for resale. Not one but both hard drives I bought. I contacted the seller almost a month ago and was told they would receive a message from WD asking them to ship me a replacement but this did not…

    fully compatible with Synology DS

My old Seagate Central died after 7 years. Luckily my data was backed up and some small works were lost. Being able to do frequent backups without having to have a RAID configuration (ie more expensive) and using my decent 8TB external Seagate was very important to me. I found that Synology has an app called USB COPY that lets you do this, so I went with the 1-bay Synology: works like a charm. This WD drive originally had a terrible sound, really ugly. loud and the audio was particularly…

    WD Always Internal Hard Drives

Western Digital has never let me down. I actually have a couple of 6 year old drives that still work as they should. I have had a return for the past 15 years and it has been fairly painless. To avoid the hard drive "religious wars" especially between Seagate and Western Digital, both will work for you. Yes, there are failures, and yes, both manufacturers have had runs that can let you down. In general, I was lucky that I became the standard for WD.
