Black Reese Towpower 7005100 Class III Towing Security Kit Review

I was aware of this item because it came with a locking pin and was REESE branded. A complete package at a great price. I eat understandably.

I had a friend use my husband's hitch to get to California so I had to replace it. Lol Thanks for getting back to us quickly. He's not that grumpy anymore. Haha!

I love this product. The clutch is excellent quality but the handle/carry case really isn't worth holding on to. A whole crate wrapped around the product would have been desirable so the clutch wouldn't have scratched the inside of my truck's crate. Generally excellent quality.

I had an old Reese hitch for several years until someone stole it from my truck a few months ago. I was so upset and figured if I buy another one they'll probably take this one too. But then I found this one with a lock and it's perfect! Reese is a great brand as I also have a large Reese fifth wheel in the back of my truck. I'm so glad I found this.

The advert said a storage bag was included, but it wasn't. The lock is good too, but the bolt is big. What bit me was that it didn't go through the bike rack. Actually the rail is to blame as the hole wasn't big enough, but you should be aware that the bolt is very large and may not fit through some of your gears. Personally, I like a bigger screw, but I'll have to buy a smaller one just in case.

For the most part everything works as it should. The trailer pulls normally, the lock works. The dust cover for the lock is pretty flimsy and the hinge broke and I didn't even take it off (I found it broken once when I finally took the hitch off). Rust had started in the chrome ball after just one train. It rattles in the receiver, so at least I know it hasn't been stolen every time I hit a bump.

Product meets expectations in terms of ball, mount, pin and lock. FYI: Interlock Ball Mount is one style and only requires a wrench to mount the ball. The ball comes installed, but if you require a different ball size for this model, make sure it is a blocking ball. Pen and lock work and look great, 2 keys included. Compared to what is available in the market, this is definitely a good deal. Curt is a little cheaper, but it comes with a lock that seems pretty strong (maybe it's been redesigned?). Getting one at Harbor Freight seems like a good option with Super Coupons until you realize they're not preloaded, so you'll probably need a special key for that, which will nullify any savings. Bought because when changing cars I needed a model that lowers the balls a few inches instead of raising them. I liked the lock feature. I have ridden it several thousand kilometers since last year. Do what needs to be done in that regard. The quality of the lock seems decent. Not the most secure, and the key seems a bit of a joke compared to some of the more secure key types.
