Nice tool to have. for testing, measuring and checking

Finally! Okay, so the first one got delivered and the diopter oil leaked, smelled really bad and even melted the plastic on the box. This block has been returned. The second block received calibration diopter oil in a small bottle with a tightly closed lid. Well done! Calibration was easy, just follow the instructions. After putting a small drop on the shiny side of the crystal, place it with the shiny oil side down on the blue prism of the refractometer, close the plastic daylight plate and…

Pros
  • Separation: 0.5% Brix, 0.25 Be'(Baume), 0.5% water
Cons
  • No instructions

Short range ATC suitable for chemical analysis instruments

I used it to make maple syrup. I loved the automatic temperature compensation, but didn't realize that the ATC range is only 10 to 30Β°C. I tested my boiling juice and took it off the burner at 67 Brix. Checked it again after it cooled down and it's 71 Brix. It is necessary to let the sample cool down before testing, even though it's just a drop, so it needs to cool down very quickly. The kit comes with instructions and materials for calibration, I have not used them. I tested basic accuracy…

Pros
  • LIGHTWEIGHT made from the highest quality aluminum and rubber
Cons
  • Expensive

Absolute HUM from CHINA

I usually start my reviews with the positives. I will not mention this list for a long time. Pros: Comes with a hard carrying case and calibration tools. Cons: The light-gathering lens is soft and will wear out to the point where a paper towel will stick to the lens if you try to clean it. This leaves 0 ways to delete it. You now have contaminated samples from each subsequent sample. If you can't erase it, you won't be able to be precise. Eye protection is tough and maintaining eye relief is…

Pros
  • Accuracy: Β±0.5% Brix; Β±0.25Be' (BaumΓ©); Β±0.5% water
Cons
  • New competitors have emerged
