I bought this mainly because it came with spare wires. I broke a cable on a similar device and was able to get it working again using one of the replacement cables that came with this device. It's always good to have a spare when you're in the dishwasher.

This is a powerful professional tool that comes with extra cutting wires and is well worth the price. This tool is used for a lifetime and not thrown away once a month. Comfortable to hold, nice and heavy, professional. notorious for being cable breakers. Take your time! The extra wires are a definite plus, but it doesn't look like I'll need them as they feel strong, as opposed to the typical flimsy, flimsy wires that come with cheaper tools (pun intended). This is a quality product but I haven't found a cheese slicer that washes easily without putting it in hot dish soap and water.
