NOT recommended for chicks

I bought this hemp litter because I heard it was good at absorbing moisture and less smelly (which it is). The problem is that it doesn't do well with young chickens. The hemp is ground too finely and the chickens eat it. The fibers help with absorbency, but they also wrap and tangle around the legs. I had to take it off my feet several times a day. This is very expensive as bed linen has to be changed frequently. I plan to use the rest of the bag once the chickens in the coop are much olderโ€ฆ

Much less dust and absorbs very well!

I use it in my chicken coop. I used pine shavings but they didn't absorb well and were very dusty. When they were too small to go outside I kept them in a garage with heat and air conditioning. The pine left a thick layer of dust all over the room. I found a small bag of cannabis at Walmart and liked that it was softer and soaked up chicken manure. Cleaning is also much easier. It seems to hold the scent. They moved into the chicken coop and we put sand and hemp on it. I can rake and tidy upโ€ฆ

Works great with our coop/deep litter system

I have a medium sized chicken coop in my backyard. Currently 3 chickens. We typically use pine shavings for deep bedding. I heard good things about some YouTube videos and decided to give it a try. This product is a large bag that is sealed tightly. It helps a little in my already set up chicken coop. I use a deep litter system for my chickens, so I would take a large handful of hemp and toss it in there. Touched. It looks like it's going to be good. I will keep you up-to-date. I also add someโ€ฆ

My chickens LOVE it!

Not sure if my chickens like it yet. The lack of information didn't really reflect how little 12L was covered. It wouldn't even cover the floor of my chicken coop which holds a maximum of 8 chickens. You can add a little more bales. If my hens like it I will probably buy it again but in a different place where you get more bang for your buck. UPDATE: I have changed my rating above from 3 stars to 5 stars. And here's why: The company contacted me and apologized for the misunderstanding regarding

Best chicken manure I have found so far

The product is expensive but when I calculate how long it will last compared to pine shavings or chopped straw the price is about the same as there is no need to change hemp like that often. I've been using it for about 3 months now, others have been using it for a year with the original bedding. So far no smell after 3 months of use with 10 chickens in the barn, at least one portion from each. day at this time of year. The ammonia smell doesn't build up and it stays dry even though my chickenโ€ฆ

Great product and customer service but expensive for the quantity

I have bought this item twice. The first purchase was on 4/18/18 when the hemp was bagged by weight and I received a 33 lb bag for $59.99. I bought another 33lb pack of 5-6-18 but was sent 4 bags of "8lb" cannabis. Upon closer inspection, the UPS shipping label showed a weight of 20 pounds, and that was the total weight on my scale. After contacting and explaining to the seller, they were very prompt in contacting and rectifying the situation; They sent me 3 more bags of 8 pounds of cannabisโ€ฆ
