A must for any serious overlander.

I'm not just a camper. i am dry Usually my campsites are as remote as polar bears. Every year I spent at least 4 months traveling with a roof top tent and lots of gear in my truck. These bags have become a very important part of my gear. They keep my sleeping bags and clean clothes dry and ready for action. I've been in high winds, rain and snow and so far there hasn't been a leak or whiff of water to speak of. Cons: At least on Amazon, the colors are gray and black. I would like a different…

Best and Strongest Pannier/Roof Box

This item is strong and huge and will stay dry. Super easy to secure. Also comes with clips to make it look like a gym bag so you can carry it in and out of the car. Drove from Miami to Houston and ran in the rain a few times and not a drop got in. The belts make noise in turbulent winds. This problem is easily solved by wrapping a paracord or elastic cord in a spiral around each of the straps (like a corkscrew), breaking up the turbulent air and thus eliminating the noise. It's hard to tell…

Used in the Grand Canyon for a team of mules to carry our gear.

We hiked to the bottom of the Grand Canyon as a family and camped at Bright Angel Campground near Phantom Ranch. There was no way we could take 2 tents, 6 winter sleeping bags, 6 mats, food and kitchen utensils with us. We paid for a team of mules to carry most of our gear down and back. This holdall was the size of a mule team and big enough to hold our bulky gear (we were traveling in January so we had plenty of cold weather gear). The bag itself is very sturdy and fairly waterproof. This was

This bag goes well with money. I used it on a 2010 Honda Fit during a 2 week trip from Seattle to Atlanta. My only issues were that the straps make a lot of noise if you don't position them correctly. They also generate more noise inside the vehicle because they break the door seal when tightened. The bag is completely waterproof, the zippers close well, but the material is stiff and the straps make it difficult to put on and take off. About a week into the trip, the end of the bag broke at the

Traveled in the rain like a champion!

Traveled from Massachusetts to Wisconsin. Packed in the rain so things were a bit wet but we rode 15 hours; 4 hours in the rain - and light rain and a heavy thunderstorm. In addition, the bag was on the roof for 4 hours in heavy rain before we left like at an event. Arrived home: EVERYTHING DRY! It was difficult to load the bag on the car roof when it was raining because. m shorter and it rained. I was afraid the bag would slide onto the roof so I put an old folded yoga mat underneath. The bag…

Do not be shy. They work great.

We bought 2 of these to attach to our station wagon for driving 3200 miles cross country from Pennsylvania to California. We wanted to store clothes in it to free up space in the car. Of course, we had never used them and were afraid that they would fall off and all our clothes would be lost immediately. We didn't have to worry. They are extremely durable and weather resistant. They withstood the rain, cold, strong wind and intense heat. After the first day of riding I had absolutely no…
