Perfect for Caps

MK4 GLI Jetta 2005.5 Straight Fit, this replacement is slightly thicker and offers a closer fit on the gas cap. Removal and installation is easier.

Pros
  • Price
Cons
  • No Performance

BUY!: Replacement parts

When you just need a seal because your light is on. Buy this and DO NOT waste your money on a new non-VW gas cap. I'm glad I heard someone say the same thing. If you have one of those pecans or something similar, you can use it to take the old one out and put the new one on.

Pros
  • Stylish and modern design
Cons
  • Socket required

Replaced my original with this one, the missing fuel cap light on the dash came on. Even if it looks like OEM. Except orange. It also has moisture on it when you remove the gas cap to refuel. Maybe a defective part? quality control? Maybe the wrong thickness of the ring?

Pros
  • Nice packaging
Cons
  • Very expensive

Don't buy a new gas cap. This will clean up the code.

Thicker than OEM but just what you need. As soon as I came across the code, I checked it with a code reader and googled it. The three most likely causes were a leaking gas cap. I checked and sure enough it was cracked and bone dry. I replaced it with this one for a while instead of buying a new one. I haven't seen the code since then. Good value for money!

Pros
  • Consistent test results
Cons
  • Almost never

Didn't fit my 2008 Audi Q7

I noticed I had a cracked gas cap gasket, did a little research and found this product. I figured I would save money along the way, but then when I replaced the old one, I found that the new gasket was too lost. I decided to give it a try, but after a few months the Check Engine caught fire. Decided to get a new gas cap from AutoZone as it was too late to return this crap. And yes, for $30, the check engine light was gone.

Pros
  • Lots of positive vibes
Cons
  • Hard to tell

Fits snugly on my Audi A6

Fits perfectly on the existing Audi Genuine fuel cap. I didn't want to buy an OEC to avoid inconsistencies, so I replaced the O-ring instead. I took out the old ring and compared the thickness of the two and noticed a significant difference in thickness. Old after 10+ decreased in thickness by about 30% as expected. Installing a new ring gave the cap the required thickness and improved tightness in the gas tank. See photos of the old and new rings. There is a very noticeable difference in…

Pros
  • Quality construction
Cons
  • Reliability

The gasket is thicker and more flexible than the factory rubber gasket.

This gasket really fits VW/Audi gas caps. Instead of paying $40-90 for another genuine VW gas cap, simply replace your old gasket with this quality gasket and forget about it. I did this for my nephew's 2007 VW Jetta, which had the infamous P0457 CEL on its dash. When we scanned it right away, the explanation was a slow EVAP leak in the emission control system. All the codes point to checking the gas cap first and indeed the rounded edge of the gas cap was bone dry and the gasket was also dry…

Pros
  • Hands-free operation
Cons
  • Weight
