i did need a rubber mallet for the installation and the left side did not slide down the track easily, like the right side

Yup. bought these for my 2010 highlander. i did need a rubber mallet for the installation and the left side did not slide down the track easily, like the right side. but even then, total install time was 30 minutes. they work great. probably more than half the cost of manufacturer product.

missing parts good for me

I received this item with one of the eight flat nuts missing, and all the washers were too small to fit (same type of problem many others have mentioned in their reviews). When I contacted the seller, I was asked if I could go to the hardware store to buy the correct parts myself and they'd reimburse me, but honestly no hardware store is going to have a matching flat nut that fits their brackets, and an 50 cent reimbursement isn't going to solve the problem & aggravation. It's good quality but

It's good quality but.it comes with 54 parts and no assembly instructions. It only has instructions on how to put the final assembly on the roof. I had 14 parts left over when I was done. I believe the product is worth the purchase. Just plan to sit down on the floor, or a large table, and think through the assembly. If you like puzzles, you will love this one.

Instructions terrible but install fine

Received these bars yesterday. Fortunately I had read about video in another post re removing rail caps and did no with no problem or breakage. The directions with bars are horrible but if you have some mechanical ability you can assemble. Bothered me a little that a number of extra screws and washers were included but found they were not needed. Another tip I found useful was to use bar soap to lubricate the roof rails to make sliding the product in place easier. The bars appear to be very…

Load limit and release points

Bought for an 08' Toyota Highlander. Installation is a little tricky so read the instructions but definitely search YouTube for installation videos, and keep looking till you find the one where the guy has measured out the release points for the rail covers. I used an 8' wonder bar to slide under the cover than after making the release point I wiggled the bar and pried up. The broad thin base of the wonder bar was a great help but the video was key. Missing parts- Useless Product

Missing 1 out if the 4 joints needed to install crossbars, therefore, this product was useless. What a waste of time and effort in regards to ordering and then inmediately returning. We were left scrambling to find the correct bars in our area the day before our vacation, spending way more money than we planned.
