🚙 Rough Country 1.5" Rear Shackle Relocation Kit (1984-2001 Jeep Cherokee XJ) - Enhanced Performance and Versatility Review

Pretty decent for the price. I have to cut them off to get the best flexibility because the shackles hit where they're attached. Should have gotten a different brand. But a typical purchase from RC.

XJ with 3" zone lift and stock arms. This kit flattened out the rear end (just over an inch of travel) and the ride was surprisingly smoother. The restraints were vertical and didn't move at all, now I can cancel my weekly visits to the chiropractor!

The quality is good and the fit is good too but I should add that if you've already picked it up you should probably reconsider. I didn't research before and I got this after jacking up my jeep and didn't think it would jack it up much. And so it was. Just do some research before you buy, but it would work great if I knew what to do beforehand.

They were scratched when I took them out of the box but that didn't matter because I deteriorated them when fitted. All hardware was included, even extra shackle pins that I didn't need (reused stock pins). The installation didn't go bad. Good guide on YouTube. Overall a great product. Gave me about 1/2" - 3/4" travel with the correct clevis angle and stock clevis.

installed these on my Cherokee, without them I had a 90 degree caliper angle, these struts gave me a 45 degree caliper angle and ride it. The rear end is much smoother now, big difference and also the flex it gives is good for leaf springs. great product easy to install. The only issue I had is the welded tabs on the nuts that you put in the brackets. One of the nuts was welded on a little crooked so I had to drill through it a bit to get the bolt in, small problem. This product doesn't say it will raise the rear of the car an inch. Another problem I found trying to install the bolts into the shackle adjuster was that one of the welded nuts had dross on the threads and I had to use a set of taps on the nut. The bolts were crap out of the box too and had to use a set of bolt tools to help them get in there. I understand that Rough Country is one of the few companies that makes these custom parts for xjs, but they need to get their quality control in order.

So far I'm happy with this set. The only downside I have is that one of the metal brackets won't thread into the screw. I'll fix it with some persuasion. Mwhahaha. I will buy slightly smaller shims for everything as I am personally picky about shim size. I give it 5 stars because it gave me all the gear I need. It matches my calipers perfectly and the ones that match my leaf springs fit perfectly. Just a few more parts to buy and I'm ready to install everything for my 4.5" jack :) This kit…
