Perfect fit for Craftsman 315 grinder

Perfect fit for Craftsman 315.279620 grinder. The part of the velcro on the front is different. It doesn't have the "grip" that the original had, but seems to hold sandpaper well. The screw holes and vent slots matched and it was on the grinder in less than 10 minutes.

Also buy shims!: Power Finishing Tool Parts & Accessories

I replaced this pad with a worn one and was dissatisfied to find that after 5 minutes of grinding after replacing it, the screws went straight through support. I put the washers on the holes and it's been holding up well ever since, hopefully the back isn't too damaged to fall apart anytime soon. Otherwise seems good, just disappointed that it cost an extra trip to the hardware store for more parts.

  • Stylish and modern design

  • Hard to say

Great pad to replace a grinder that is no longer gripping

Bought this pad to replace the back pad on my father and father in law's Milwaukee grinders. I was trying to find one specifically for Milwaukee but read reviews that said this ryobi outsole should fit my Milwaukee and it does! Now it grips the grinding wheels again like glue where the old one was slippery and didn't hold anymore. Just check the number of screw holes on your grinder to see if it's right for you.

Works well - Powerful finishing tool Parts and Accessories

Seems to work well. However, one of the two grinding wheels fell off during grinding and was no longer sticky. As soon as it came loose, the disc's felt backing was peeled off and destroyed (although the rough abrasive surface is still alive). the pillow didn't hold up properly - this had never happened with the previous upholstery. With a different grinding wheel I was able to finish the grinding work without any further problems.

Fits my Craftsman sander with adjustments

I bought this pad for my Craftsman random orbit sander (model #315.116211) to convert it to a velcro system. Although it matches the same hole and screw pattern, the shallower holes for the plastic pins on the Ryobi Sander sander weren't deep enough, so when I tightened the screws the plastic pins on the Craftsman sander smashed a bit. I used a drill press to drill large deep holes in the sole of the Ryobi Sander to accommodate the wider (broken) pins and it fitted perfectly. A little more…

NOT OEM, not even close

This is a very poor imitation of the original last. Obvious things straight out of the box: 1. The OEM shoe had a steel mounting plate molded into a hard rubber washer. This pad is made of phenolic resin or some similar material which will certainly not last long under the vibrations of a grinder.2. The original's hard rubber pad has been replaced with a much softer material, but it can still work well. Time will tell.3. The hole pattern of the mounting screws is different, which requires the…
