Rex has some flaws

This product surprised me because it was better than I thought. It has some flaws but overall it really works for a 20 year old outdated product. Barking variations and if you listen long enough it's easy to tell it's a loop that sounds exactly the same. What I really like is the duel mode, where you first hear a dog barking and then it sounds like a house alarm. explodes. Warning, the range of 300 feet is questionable. I have a steel door and you're definitely not going to get the full 300…

Barks but has poor control Providence

The almost insurmountable problem with this deterrent is that it will bark at the approach, even from YOU. It must be plugged in and then turned on manually. As soon as you turn on the beast, it barks wildly (the closer you get, the more it barks, chirps, or gargles, depending on your tone choice). The sensor covers 360 degrees, so sneaking up doesn't work. . You turn it on and then run so far that it stops - that's maybe 15 seconds of barking. The same if you want to turn it off! My solution…

Excellent for several months

It took a few tries to get it working, but I finally got it right. It worked great for about 8 months but eventually started losing the ability to feel movement. Now it's literally on the opposite side of the door, turning on for maximum sensitivity, and it only works intermittently. When it worked it was great, a lot of people thought I had a dog. The repeated barking would not have been noticed if someone hadn't stopped and listened. Most people left as soon as they heard the first bark…

repeats and sounds like a recording

I finally thought about buying a dog alarm clock for my business so it could help scammers think twice if they assumed a dog was on duty . Before purchasing a Rex alarm I read the reviews and saw that some people claim barking doesn't sound as realistic as the manufacturer claims. Or that the barking was too fast, repetitive, and sounded like a recording. Well I jumped at the chance and bought the product to listen and try for myself. I checked it out as soon as I received it and agreed with…

I SENT MY BACK, MORE GOOD FEEDBACK ABOUT THE OLD VERSION

I bought one of these over a year ago and wrote a review praising the product. I decided to buy it for my art studio in March 2015. The new updated version left me very disappointed and I sent it back. It is inferior to the novelty in several respects. If you look at the dates of most of the positive reviews, they are before this change. It's easy to see that the new record isn't doggy at all. I can't imagine anyone being fooled. The barking is very fast, the recording is short but repetitive…

Disappointing waste of money

I had high hopes for this item and really needed something like this after my neighbor was recently robbed. Unfortunately, the product doesn't even come close to living up to expectations. I've tried multiple locations around the house and garage with different settings and ranges/volumes. Tried different heights and directions. The alarm could not be activated through glass or walls and doors made of any material. Even in the same room it wouldn't work unless you were within 5ft of the box…

Amazing sound and volume

Incredibly lifelike sound. Rex is everything the information says. When you plug it in, it takes about 30 seconds and it's ready to use. It barks like a German shepherd and is so loud it scares people who have just left our parking lot and are running towards the front of the house. It has a fairly wide coverage area. Not sure what it will be because I wrapped it in a gallon sized ziplock bag and hooked it up to our covered deck. So far with the bag he had endured the light snow blowing onto…

Pros
  • Place it anywhere in the room you want to detect motion
Cons
  • Boring packaging

They are the best on the market

I have two of these. They're the best out there, but the downside is that the speakers feel quiet. My friend and I thought that the audio recording was interrupted, but it turned out that the speaker or the electronics had failed (the volume is too high, so you hear a strange vibrating noise). As a result, you hear the dog bark once, you come closer, it barks several times, you come even closer and it starts barking, but this angry barking is a bit louder and you hear a buzzing due to this…

Pros
  • Reliable protection 24 hours a day
Cons
  • A small change
