The first bread slicer I bought gave me no choice of thickness and cut either too thin or too thick. Throw this one away and buy this one and it allows you much better choice of thickness to get a regular size cut.

This bread slicer makes it easy to cut the same slices for sandwiches, french toast, etc. I make a lot of homemade bread and my husband would always say something if the bread was cut crooked, at an angle lol. It also helps cut 4 different thicknesses, which is great if you want Texas toast. I'm glad I bought this.

It's not listed so I'm just guessing the part is missing. You should be able to cut to different widths and I see there are slots but there is nothing in those slots. I sent it back with no instructions other than the pictures on the box.

Make sure the bread is fully inserted. Whenever I've had an uneven slice, a corner of the bread wasn't fully in the slicer. We only use the thinnest setting, about 1/4"-5/16" thick. So it can make thin slices. Of course, if it's that thin, the bread will shred rather than slice unless your knife is very sharp.

I love this bread slicer. It has become one of my new favorite kitchen appliances. This is a plastic that is much better than wood which will splinter and be difficult to clean. I like that it allows me to change the thickness of the slice. I like thinners on sandwich bread, 2nd slot for sourdough and 3rd slot for cinnamon bread (for french toast). It's WAY too thin to cut bread straight and the plastic was warped when it arrived so straight cuts wouldn't even be possible if it were NOT thin! I immediately sent it back and bought a bamboo one instead. I wish I had done that from the start. I use it to cut "keto cubes" bread. Believe me. Save time and hassle with returns and simply spend more for something better, right from the start. I hope this review helps someone else! And yes, I paid full price for it. Just received this today and had a loaf of bread in the oven while waiting for UPS delivery. Once I could handle the hot bread, I cut off my first piece. Perfectly straight and almost easy to use. When you press on the back of the loaf to slice the bread, the entire contraption simply slides over the counter. A big problem. But I have a large wooden cutting board with a border on three sides, so I put a guide in it and made another cut. It worked well and stayed on the counter. I didn't find it
