This product solved my problem exactly. I have a hatchback and the top edge of the door is plastic, not metal. So the placement of the top hook on that top edge was very unstable and not strong enough. With this article, the bike rack can be used in my car again. If Saris says you should use them on your car, take them. I figured I could get away without using them with my Bones 2 saris. I probably COULD, but I risked the normal hooks coming off if I suddenly stopped and shifted the weight forward. through the sheet metal of your car.
