Expensive no more than they are but you can get it right too. I don't regret spending the money to get the right parts for the job, but I have a feeling this is a $2 part.

We removed the cheap rod holders we had on our yacht and replaced them with Scotty holders. We've used them on quite a few boats and we've had clamp adapters, deck pass adapters and now these rail mounts. Scotty rod holders are good and reliable and all the adapters we have used are also good and reliable.

Just an adapter to fit a Scotty rod holder to an odd shaped rail. My small aluminum Gregor boot has rails that are rounded on the outside and flat on the inside and that wasn't a problem for this part. Some rails may require longer screws, but the mount will remain stable over time. Quality is expected from Scotty and this little adapter lives up to that standard.

I have four Scotty rail mounts, rod holders, downriggers with rail mounts and they have all been great products. Some of them have been on my boat for 20 years. I recently bought another holder and rail mount. The Striker rod holder is great. The rail mounting kit was junk. The stainless fittings appeared to be porcelain, and two of the four clasps were frayed (mostly from cold welding) and had to be cut off with a saw to remove them.
