This product is well known for providing beneficial insects with an excellent environment to grow and thrive. It's not too expensive so I bought some and put it in a bowl in my canister filter. I have a 55 gallon freshwater aquarium with 34 fish. I have a Fluval 306 canister filter with media included. I regularly do 30% water changes weekly and filter cleaning weekly.
