You get what you pay for!

Looks good out of the box but didn't last long! As soon as I tried to shift the derailleur it broke. Packed and sent back. Order Shimano!

Pros
  • Confident
Cons
  • Damaged

Very good quality on shifters

The best Sti switches for the money. One click to go up, two clicks to go down. Supplied with pre-installed shift cables. Works great with my Shimano derailleur. I would say they are comparable to 105, maybe even better. The shape of the hoods is comfortable and fits my large hands perfectly.

Pros
  • Absolutely amazing!
Cons
  • Clarity

No derailleur.

Works great with the old Ultegra 9 speed gearbox. There is no trim for the derailleur, although chain rub was not an issue with my very limited riding. There is a lubricating flap for the shift mechanism, fixed with 3 screws (orange circles), a shift cable hole (green circle), the lever reach is adjustable, installation instructions are not included.

Pros
  • Great for me
Cons
  • Little things

Great upgrade for a classic road bike

Upgraded my 1987 Schwinn from downtube derailleurs to these. They were easy to install and worked great with the Shimano 600 SIS groupset already mounted on the bike. I have the 2x7 version and the front derailleur also has dual trim which was a nice plus. The only downside is that it looks like the shifter cables should have grommets in the levers, but I didn't have them. This does not currently affect the switch, but may occur in the future.

Rear derailleur does not securely hold cable tension

Allows cable slippage when shifting. Doesn't seem to cover the full range of 11 tines either. I bought it hoping to save a few bucks, but after the installation process it became clear that some of the mechanisms would not be available. Thinking my cassette's largest cogs would be needed the most, I installed the cable with more than usual tension, effectively blocking access to my smaller cogs to get to the largest ones. It worked well enough until the tension on the cable released under load,

Pros
  • Excellent value for money
Cons
  • Not secure

Good alternative shifters

I bought these to replace my old 9 speed Dura Ace shifters. This is the second time my front (left) shifter has failed and I didn't want to spend hundreds to replace it so I took a chance. I think the most important thing to know is that they don't change in the same way. You only have one lever (not the smaller lever you push to jump to the smaller ring). You need to get into the habit of tapping twice to go to the larger ring and once to go to the smaller ring. But once you get used to them…

Pros
  • Heavy duty
Cons
  • Easily repairable

Revitalized my 9 speed transmission

Installed on a 9 speed Dura Ace bike where the right shifter broke. Decided to give them a try instead of going the used/eBay route. Very pleasantly surprised! Switching is quick and precise. The single lever design is convenient and comfortable for gloved hands. I've ridden a few hundred miles on hilly terrain since installing it and all is well. It requires a quick adjustment with the barrel adjuster on the rear, but probably due to cable stretch rather than the derailleur. The front also…

Good price, works great, very comfortable

Used this to turn my fat bike into a "gravel bike". I kept my 1x11 MTB drivetrain so the left shift cable is not connected. Installation was easy. I couldn't figure out how to remove/replace the shifter cables, so I wrapped the left cable under the hood and taped it in place so it's ready should I ever want to add a derailleur. Note: These are street switches so are unlikely to work well. MTB front derailleurs without a ratio converter like Wolf Tooth's Tanpan. So far I've found the brake and…
