Unfortunately they were able to connect CO2

Works great. Until you get clean. At this point, break the nipple that connects to CO2 while disconnecting it. Dinner made it sticky again, but I know next time I go to clean it I'll have to throw it out. But who knows, the dinner's glue might be stronger than the flimsy plastic that used to hold it together.

Good reactor. But there are major downsides

I used this CO2 reactor for two years and learned the hard way. While it's still the best carbon dioxide reactor out there, there are many downsides that keep me from using it. First, the size of the inlet and outlet is too small for a large canister filter like the Fluval FX6. It's nonsense that I would buy a large CO2 reactor designed for a 160 gallon tank but only fit in a small tank and small canister filter due to hose size limitations. Another major downside is that the sealing mechanismโ€ฆ

100% effective, 150% irritant

Absolutely effective CO2 dissolver. Nothing is wasted. But... it's loud. Even inside the case it sounds like a motor boat. Unacceptable noise level for living quarters in tanks. At the end of the day, a significant amount of CO2 accumulates inside, so this can continue for an hour or more after the photoperiod. The water WILL support the CO2 line, so be very, very confident with your check. Valve does its job. - significantly slows down the flow of the filter when connected to the output line.โ€ฆ

CAUSING OBLIGATION. if you can stand the noise

If you are serious about a planted aquarium THIS IS A MUST and ZERO CO2 emissions reach the surface from the bubbler in the tank. Bubbles per minute due to exhaust gas reaching the surface. With this device it is 100% absorbed! I have a VERY heavily planted 100 gallon tank and my CO2 is set at 60 bpm and more than enough. So why 2 stars? After a few weeks of work, the rattle and rumble finally got to me and it's coming back. The mechanical motion of a spinning wheel is endless and destructiveโ€ฆ

The required pipe size is not mentioned anywhere.

Not satisfied with the product. I couldn't figure out what size pipe to connect to this reactor from their manual. I have a Marineland C360 canister filter with a 3/4 ID tube. I tried connecting it directly to the reactor (with a clamp) and it was leaking like crazy. Since I couldn't find the tube size required for this product anywhere in their manual, I had to buy several tubes and a tube adapter before finally getting it to work with my 3/4 ID tube (for a Marineland C360 filter). Integrated external reactor or diffuser?

I've been reading my landscape about different ways to pressurize CO2 assets and everyone seems to have an opinion. Here is my. I bought a large sera, a large max mix and an integrated porous core UP cone. I have Fluval 406, UP seemed the most logical to me, small, comfortable, no moving parts. Inexpensive. If you use it with your canister filter I say NO. I believe this is a biological filter and I clean the first stage sponges once a month with 25% water changes and clean the rest of theโ€ฆ

Mod required to use with 306

I found I needed a "Fluval Rubber Ribbed Hose Adapter" to make a solid connection between my 306/406 hose and the reactor. A lot of people use rubber hoses, but if you want to use the original Fluval hose that came with your Fluval filter I would say you need these rubber adapters. I found that without an adapter I can't tighten the hose enough. Luckily I had some of these adapters on hand. Another thing is that I used food grade silicone grease to push my CO2 hose to the reactor. I've readโ€ฆ

Wobbly CO2 connector, broken off. Please read the update!

I was very happy with this product, mainly because it was effective at adding CO2 to my planted aquarium and I stopped having all those bubbles all over the tank. But luck didn't last long, I woke up this morning (4/9/17) in a puddle of water in my living room, the notch connecting the CO2 hose to the reactor came loose and he started draining the tank. Luckily I caught him in time before he emptied the tank, killed my fish and damaged the hardwood floors. My guess is that the connector didn'tโ€ฆ

Works but has issues (read before buying)

I'm blown away by the low reviews because I felt it was 'not' made from cheap plastic. This product is made of "Acrylic" as stated in the description, which is relatively durable. The reactor looks like a high quality assembly. As for the CO2 connector, which is easy to break, I personally found it would take a lot of unnecessary pressure to break it. The CO2 line slipped slightly after being submerged in boiling water and as the CO2 line cooled it formed a very tight seal. Two weeks later Iโ€ฆ
