3rd from this stone, love it, it just works

I had a Shapton Pro 120 and although technically it's a little different it's the same. I buy it because it cuts like a machine but the knife still feels. Very rough stones are hard to like but I've tried a few of these and it's great. With normal use it will last for years, it doesn't run and build trails quickly and it actually levels out in a short amount of time.

I've watched a lot of Burrfection YouTube videos and Ryky has made a lot of videos about the Shapton Pro 120 stone. I had a couple of chipped knives at home and they were cheaper knives from a typical Asian market. Instead of throwing away knives and buying new ones, I used a Shapton Pro 120 to repair all the blades. Better Than Diamond

Let the slurry build up until it looks like wet mud. Unlike diamond stones, which look grainy but most lose their grit after five minutes - if you want a 320 grit diamond, you need to buy a 220 grit stone - this waterstone retains its grit. And unlike diamond stones, it doesn't constantly clog, which even happens with honing fluid used to remove chips. You may need a piece of Sacrificial Steel to get the slurry. (I use blades from the cheapest log plane they had at Home Depot.) Or maybe not…
