Excellent value for money and quality! - Sport

I bought this after my local bike shop "forgot" to order it and was happy to pay for the work as I don't have the tools. I mountain bike and apparently they don't mix well with cassettes (and chains and cogs and derailleurs). So if mine breaks again, I'll know where to shop.

Pros
  • Great construction

  • Empty

DIY: Cassettes and Ratchet

After spending $250 to replace the chain and cassette last year, I decided to do it myself. Get a small cassette eject tool for about $25, a new cassette for $30, and a chain for $30, and the best part is that it really takes about 20 minutes to get everything ready Even if you don't really know what you're doing. I've done several rides totaling maybe 100 miles or so with this cassette on my Cannondale mountain bike and it works flawlessly. We've got pretty flat here so I don't need bigger…

Works great with my Shimano Sora 9 speed system!

I bought an 11-32 HG400 to replace the SRAM PG950 that came with my Giant Defy. The improvement in shift reliability is impressive. SRAM misshifted frequently, made all sorts of noises, and generally worked very poorly with my Sora and RD 9-speed shifters. I also have this on a Fuji Sportif and it works just as well. Although it has a nickel finish instead of chrome like SRAM, it performs better and still looks classy. I have paired it with KMC X9.93 chains as well as KMC X9.99 chains with…

Pros
  • High test scores for support and durability
Cons
  • Not as thick as other options

Shimano standard 9 speed cassette

We put this on a mountain bike so durability was more important than the last gram of weight (also extra money if you go that route). very quick and easy, along with the new chain of course, because you don't want to connect the new cassette to the old chain. To install this cassette on a standard Shimano hub, you will need a hub tool and a chain whip. (Actually only needed to remove the old cassette as using it will tighten the new cassette even more. If you are using a torque wrench I think…
